Singapore Airlines. Singapore Airlines Singapore Airlines office

Singapore Airlines is Singapore's largest carrier. The company, which has been earning the title of best carrier in Singapore for several years now, was formed in May 1947.

The geography of flights of Singapore Airlines is very extensive - about 40 countries. Almost all of the company's flights operate from its base airport in Singapore. This geographical location of the airline's main airport has its pros and cons: it is possible to make non-stop flights from Europe to Southeast Asia and Australia, but it is impossible to make the same non-stop flights to major US cities. The airline's fleet includes about 100 aircraft.

Operating most often on long-haul flights, the company's management primarily cares about the comfort of its passengers. Most aircraft are ready to accept passengers according to three classes of service. Only this company makes an exclusive offer to its clients - to fly on board an Airbus A380 airliner with maximum comfort. The so-called suites will make your flight unforgettable. Passengers will be provided with a separate cabin equipped with everything necessary. Here you can hold a business meeting, be alone with your loved one, or simply isolate yourself from prying eyes. In all classes of service you will be offered a choice of several dishes prepared by the best chefs. If you have any special dietary preferences, the airline's chefs will be happy to satisfy your every desire; you just need to order a special meal 24 hours before departure. In addition, you can order separate meals for your children.

The airline provides its passengers with a wide variety of services, not only during the flight. For example, by purchasing a boarding pass, you can become a member of the “Basic Singapore Stopover Holiday” or “Singapore Stopover Holiday” program and get the opportunity to stay in comfortable hotels at reduced prices, visit a number of Singapore attractions on a special tourist bus completely free of charge, and much more.

Like many other air carriers, Singapore Airlines has developed a frequent flyer rewards program, Kris Flyer. Using the accumulated miles, you can get a free ticket, book a hotel room, order dinner at a restaurant, or simply upgrade your service class during your next flight.

Among the many air carriers in the world, the world's largest air carrier, Singapore Airlines, is deservedly considered one of the most popular and popular among passengers. official website of the company - www.singaporeair.com. The reason for the popularity of the well-known air carrier can be explained by its excellent work, constant care for its customers, and provision of exceptionally high-quality services. It is these moments that grateful passengers note in the form of positive reviews, which can be read by everyone without exception when visiting the discussion forum. In addition to the forum, everyone will be able to get acquainted with both passenger reviews and advantageous offers by visiting the official website in Russian of Singapore Airlines.

The world-famous airline began its development history in the 50s of the last century. It only took a couple of decades for the airline to gain the trust and respect of numerous customers who were able to appreciate the quality of the services provided and the respectful attitude of the service personnel.

The airline, of course, did not stop at its achievements, defining for itself the most basic goals - to increase the level of service to all customers without exception and to replenish its own aircraft fleet with modern, high-quality airliners. With maximum effort and effort, everything planned was brought into reality, because it is not for nothing that many competing companies consider this particular air carrier an ideal model for so-called imitation.

At the beginning of its career, the airline served only three air routes under the name Malayan Airways. Aircraft from the Singapore air terminal served passengers in the following areas:

  • Ipog;
  • Lumpur;
  • Penang.

Rapid growth and development helped the airline not only increase the number of destinations, but also replenish its own fleet with more modern aircraft. In the early 60s, the airline received a new name Malaysia-Singapore Airlines, as the Malaysian Federation decided to withdraw from the general membership. And in the 70s of the last century, the airline was divided into two independent companies - Singapore Airlines and Malaysian Airline, since the leadership of Singapore and Malaysia could not find a compromise on some issues. It is this period that is considered to be the beginning of the development of the world famous airline Singapore Airlines. According to analysts, several factors helped Singapore Airlines achieve such success:

  • coherence of work activities;
  • staff consisting only of highly qualified professionals;
  • constant care for our clients;
  • the use of exclusively high-quality aircraft, which undergoes a thorough technical check before each flight.

It was these moments, as well as the implementation of bold initiatives, that helped the airline take a leading position in the global aviation industry.
The main air berth of the airline is located in Singapore, operating under the name “Changi”. It was this air hub that several years ago was deservedly recognized as the best in the whole world. The convenient location of the base air berth allows the air carrier to serve non-stop flights to the Australian continent from European countries and countries located in Southeast Asia.

SIA Group's annual revenue reaches record SGD 16.3 billion

2018-2019 financial year

Despite the challenging market environment, the Group's operating profit for the financial year 2018/19 was a significant SGD 1.067 million (see Note 1). The Group achieved record revenues thanks to initiatives implemented as part of its transformation programme.

Singapore Airlines has launched direct ticket sales via Skyscanner using the NDC standard

Singapore Airlines announced the start of direct sales of tickets for the airline's flights for Russian passengers through the Skyscanner website for searching and booking air tickets according to the new standard for the distribution of air services (New Distribution Capability, NDC). Flights can now be purchased directly from Skyscanner or the mobile app, without having to go to the airline's official website to complete your booking.

NDC is a new industry standard for data exchange between airlines and online agents, developed by the International Air Transport Association. Thanks to NDC, any certified airline can sell tickets directly through metasearch engines, and they, in turn, receive the most complete information about the airline’s services in a standardized format. The NDC protocol is used within Skyscanner's Direct Booking solution, through which Singapore Airlines has been integrated.

NDC and Direct Booking technologies allow search engine users to compare not only the cost of air tickets, but also the entire range of services offered by different airlines: detailed information about fares, flight exchange or cancellation, bonus miles, upgrade opportunities and baggage allowances. Entering passport data and paying for selected air tickets is carried out directly on the portal or in the Skyscanner application. Since March 2019, Skyscanner has also offered the option to select on-board seating. Customer support (such as ticket refunds or exchanges) remains the responsibility of the airline.

Singapore Airlines has a third-highest level NDC certificate, which covers both proposal and order management. Thus, the airline has full control over how fares are offered, the booking process, payment and ticket issuance.

Mr. Biren Poh, Head of the Representative Office of Singapore Airlines in Russia, noted:
“Singapore Airlines is committed to providing exceptional service to passengers at every stage of interaction with the airline, including optimizing and simplifying the booking process through our collaboration with Skyscanner on the new NDC airline distribution standard. We will continue to develop partnerships with third-party air ticket sales channels, facilitating customer access to Singapore Airlines services.”

Igor Novikov, senior commercial manager at Skyscanner:

“Singapore Airlines' ticket sales complement the list of destinations and airlines available through Skyscanner's Direct Booking platform. Travelers will immediately see the airline's full range of fares, select extras including seating and complete their booking directly on Skyscanner without having to go to the airline's website. Our statistics confirm that this approach makes purchasing a ticket easier for travelers and increases efficiency for partners.”

The NDC agreement on cooperation between Singapore Airlines and the Skyscanner portal was concluded in May 2018. The partnership aims to provide airline customers with an easier and faster way to book flights through Skyscanner. Additional features will gradually appear on the portal in the near future.
