The trolleybus route runs from Ordinarnaya Street near the Petrogradskaya metro station, along Bolshoy Prospekt PS, touches a piece of Vasilievsky Island and passes through the entire Nevsky Prospekt. 2. Trolley bus number 5
The route goes from Konnogvardeisky Boulevard, touches St. Isaac's Square (when moving towards Nevsky, the former building of the Senate and Synod, the Neva embankment, St. Isaac's Cathedral remain on the left). Then, along Malaya Morskaya Street, the trolleybus leaves for Nevsky and rushes along it to Suvorovsky Prospekt and further to the most beautiful ensemble of the Smolny Cathedral. Thus, route No. 5 covers a significant part of the historical center.

One of the most beautiful routes Petersburg originates in the park on Krestovsky Island. The bus travels through the entire elite development area of the island - here and there, expensive houses and cottages of the “new owners of life” flash by. Further across the bridge crossing the Malaya Nevka (here opens beautiful view to the cable-stayed Lazarevsky bridge, new houses with moorings for yachts, the building of the Leningrad Palace of Youth (LDM), the bus leaves for Levashovsky Prospekt and moves to the Petrogradskaya metro station. In the end, the bus through Vasilyevsky Island and the Palace Bridge leaves for the beautiful Voznesensky Prospekt (according to the city plan, one of the three direct highways-beams leading to the Admiralty). The bus passes through St. Isaac's Square, the hotel "Astoria", the embankment of the Moika River, the Mariinsky Palace. The final destination of the route is the Baltic Station.

This route is interesting because it runs along the most beautiful Kirochnaya, Shpalernaya streets, st. Pestel. Buses number 46 go through the Trinity bridge, Kamennostrovsky prospect. You can see in all its glory the panorama of the Neva near the Peter and Paul Fortress, the mosque near the Gorkovskaya metro station, the Smolny Cathedral, the Alexander Nevsky Bridge, the building of the Academy of Baron Stieglitz.

History of the St. Petersburg metro
The Petersburg metro is the second longest in Russia after the Moscow one.
It opened in 1955. Today there are 5 metro lines, the total length of which is 113.6 kilometers. The metro scheme of St. Petersburg (St. Petersburg) is quite simple and almost everyone can figure it out.
Petersburg metro is considered the deepest in the world. Many of the stations have original architectural and artistic design.
For example, the walls of the Kirovsky Zavod station are decorated with marble and bas-reliefs. The ground building itself has a wide staircase, massive columns and resembles a palace or a temple. And at the Pushkin station there is a monument to A.S. Pushkin. This monument marked the beginning of the tradition of erecting monuments to great people in the subway. Unusual and interesting Avtovo station - its columns are decorated with decorative glass, its special cut creates the effect of the columns glowing from the inside.
Plan for the development of the metro in St. Petersburg
On this moment Peter's metro network is not sufficiently developed. But every few years new stations open. And in the long-term plans - to almost double their number!
One of the significant transport problems of citizens is the isolation of districts and suburbs remote from the center. Ground transport circulates, but taking into account traffic jams, it is very difficult to get from the outskirts to the center and back.
Focusing on the metro development plan for 2016, developed by Lenmetrogiprotrans Research and Development Institute (in the picture on the left), one can understand how specific problems of individual areas of the city will be solved. So, for example, from the east of the center, in the Krasnogvardeisky district, whose residents currently use the Ladozhskaya metro station, which is often a long way to get to, they will receive a whole separate branch with four stations - Bolsheokhtinskaya, Energetikov Ave., Industrial and st. Communes. Of course, the attractiveness of the area will increase significantly!
From the south there will be, firstly, communication with the village of Shushary, which, in fact, is already part of the city (metro station Yuzhnaya). And, secondly, there will be an underground connection to Pulkovo Airport, which will be a significant gain not only for residents of the entire city, but also for its guests.
The northwest will also be integrated into the transport network. It will be possible to take the metro to Strelna itself! Not to mention such popular places among the townspeople as the Yunona radio market on Marshall Kazakov (metro station Kazakovskaya), which now has to be reached by land transport from st. Avtovo.
Moving around the central part of the city will be significantly accelerated due to the appearance of a ring line, which will connect all branches and will allow not to pass through the center when it is not necessary.
It is not difficult to see that residents of the northern regions will also be offered many new stations.
It remains only to be patient and wait until all this is implemented. In the meantime, use those stations that are already open, calculating routes through our St. Petersburg metro scheme!

How often do we ride a bus / trolley bus and don’t want to look out the window, as there are industrial zones around, garages, old typical high-rise buildings and many more sad things. However, in St. Petersburg there are several trolleybus/bus/tram routes that are rightfully can be called sightseeing, because they run through the most touristic "postcard" places. And tourists are not a sin take a ride on some routes (of course, not at rush hour)).
1. Trolleybus No. 1
The trolleybus route runs from Ordinarnaya Street near the Petrogradskaya metro station, along Bolshoy Prospekt P.S., touches a piece Vasilyevsky Island and runs through the entire Nevsky Prospekt. Then it goes to the Ladozhskaya metro station and to the sleeping quarters Krasnogvardeisky district, where there is nothing special to see. But there is an opportunity to see beautiful historical buildings on Bolshoi Prospekt PS, drive along the Tuchkov bridge and see the beautiful water surface of the Neva (now in ice) on the left and right. 2. Trolley bus number 5
The route goes from Konnogvardeisky Boulevard, touches St. Isaac's Square (when moving towards Nevsky, the former building remains on the leftSenate and Synod, Neva embankment, St. Isaac's Cathedral). Then, along Malaya Morskaya Street, the trolleybus leaves for Nevsky and rushes alongit to Suvorovsky Prospekt and further to the most beautiful ensemble of the Smolny Cathedral. Thus, route No. 5 coversa significant part of the historical center.

On May 7, 2019, changes are made to bus routes No. 3, 7, 10, 22, 24, 27, 100, 191 and trolleybuses No. 1, 5, 7, 10, 11, 17, 22.
Reason: closure of traffic along Nevsky Prospekt (from Sadovaya St. to Dvortsovaya Embankment), Palace Passage, Admiralteysky Prospekt (from Gorokhovaya St. to Nevsky Prospekt) in connection with the rehearsal of the solemn parade.
