Story

The construction of an airfield for heavy aviation began in 1931 (the construction manager was August Dussier, a Latvian, a Bolshevik with pre-revolutionary experience).

Since 1932, the 9th heavy bomber brigade was based here (commander Tsiemgal (Tsemgal) Albert Yanovich, commissar Losev Mendel Abramovich (since 1935), chief of staff Shkurin Yakov Stepanovich), by 1936, equipped with the largest pre-war bombers TB-3 R. Fully brigade was called the "9th brigade named after the 10th All-Union Congress of the Lenin Komsomol", the five squadrons included in it were named after Voroshilov, Kaganovich, Kirov, Postyshev and Kosarev.

The airfield has a peculiar shape: the taxiways are built around a circle with a diameter of about 2000 m. As of the summer of 1943, the airfield had two concrete runways with a length of 1670 and 820 m.

During the years of fascist occupation during the Great Patriotic War, an international underground operated at the Seshchinsky airfield, about the heroes of which a four-episode feature film was shot in 1964 " We call fire on ourselves". Thanks to the activities of the underground, the airfield was destroyed by a bombing attack by Soviet aircraft in the fall of 1943.

The 566th Solnechnogorsk Red Banner Order of Kutuzov III degree military transport aviation regiment is based at the airfield. The regiment is armed with Il-76 and An-124 aircraft. Also, the State Airline 224 Flight Detachment, owned by the Ministry of Defense, is based at the airfield.

An-124-100 aircraft from the Seshcha airfield take part in the air part of the Parade on Red Square on May 9 of each year.

An excerpt characterizing Seshch (airfield)

It seemed to me that something simply prevented us from finding her on this “floor” and I suggested Stella to look “higher”. We slipped mentally onto the Mental... and saw her at once... She really was amazingly beautiful - bright and clean, like a stream. And long golden hair scattered over her shoulders like a golden cloak... I have never seen such long and such beautiful hair! The girl was deeply thoughtful and sad, like many on the "floors" who lost their love, their relatives, or simply because they were alone ...
- Hello, Michel! - Without wasting time, Stella immediately said. - And we have prepared a gift for you!
The woman smiled in surprise and kindly asked:
- Who are you girls?
But without answering her, Stella mentally called Arno...
I won't be able to tell what this meeting brought them... And it's not necessary. Such happiness cannot be put into words - they will fade ... It just didn’t exist, probably, at that moment happier people all over the world, and on all the "floors"! .. And we sincerely rejoiced with them, not forgetting those to whom they owed their happiness ... I think that both little Maria and our kind Luminary would be very happy seeing them now, and knowing that it was not in vain that they gave their lives for them ...
Stella suddenly became alarmed and disappeared somewhere. I followed her, as there was nothing more for us to do here ...
"And where did you all disappear to?" - Surprised, but very calmly, Maya greeted us with a question. “We already thought you left us for good. And where is our new friend? .. Has he really disappeared too? .. We thought he would take us with him ...
There was a problem... Where to put these unfortunate kids now - I had not the slightest idea. Stella looked at me, thinking the same thing, and desperately trying to find some way out.
- I figured it out! - already just like the "old" Stella, she happily clapped her hands. “We will make a joyful world for them in which they will exist. And there, look, they will meet someone ... Or someone good will pick them up.
“Don’t you think we should introduce them to someone here?” - trying to “more securely” attach lonely kids, I asked.
“No, I don’t think so,” the friend answered very seriously. – Think for yourself, because not all dead babies get this... And not everyone here, probably, has time to take care of. Therefore, it will be fair to the rest if we just create a very beautiful house until they find someone. After all, the three of them, it is easier for them. And others are alone ... I was also alone, I remember ...
And suddenly, apparently remembering that terrible time, she became confused and sad ... and somehow unprotected. Wanting to immediately bring her back, I mentally brought down a waterfall of incredible fantastic flowers on her ...
- Oh! Stella laughed like a bell. - Well, what are you! .. Stop it! The military garrison of the village of Sescha was founded in 1931.
It housed the headquarters of the division with an aviation regiment.

During the war years, 12 pilots were awarded the high title of "Hero of the Soviet Union", pilot Mykhlik V.I. - twice.
In the post-war period, the aviation regiment underwent reform changes and adopted transport aircraft.

An excerpt characterizing Seshch (airfield)

After several receptions of recitation, m lle Georges left and the Countess Bezuhaya asked for company in the hall.
The count wanted to leave, but Helen begged not to spoil her impromptu ball. The Rostovs remained. Anatole invited Natasha to a waltz, and during the waltz, he, shaking her body and hand, told her that she was ravissante [charming] and that he loved her. During the ecossaise, which she again danced with Kuragin, when they were alone, Anatole did not say anything to her and only looked at her. Natasha was in doubt if she saw in a dream what he said to her during the waltz. At the end of the first figure, he again shook hands with her. Natasha looked up at him with frightened eyes, but such a self-confidently gentle expression was in his affectionate look and smile that she could not, looking at him, say what she had to tell him. She lowered her eyes.
“Don't tell me such things, I'm engaged and in love with another,” she said quickly ... - She looked at him. Anatole was not embarrassed or upset by what she said.
- Don't tell me about it. What is my business? - he said. “I'm saying I'm madly, madly in love with you. Is it my fault that you are amazing? We start.
Natasha, animated and anxious, looked around her with wide, frightened eyes and seemed more cheerful than usual. She hardly remembered anything from what had happened that evening. Ecossaise and Gros Vater danced, her father invited her to leave, she asked to stay. Wherever she was, whoever she spoke to, she could feel his eyes on her. Then she remembered that she had asked her father's permission to go into the dressing room to straighten her dress, that Helen had gone out to fetch her, told her laughing about her brother's love, and that she had met Anatole again in the little sofa room, that Helen had disappeared somewhere, they were left alone and Anatole, Taking her by the hand, he said in a gentle voice:
“I can’t visit you, but will I never see you again?” I love you madly. Really never? ... - and he, blocking her way, brought his face closer to her face.
His brilliant, large, masculine eyes were so close to hers that she could see nothing but those eyes.
- Natalie? his voice whispered inquiringly, and someone squeezed her hands painfully.
- Natalie?
"I don't understand anything, I have nothing to say," her look said.
Hot lips pressed against hers, and at that very moment she felt free again, and the sound of steps and Helen's dress was heard in the room. Natasha looked back at Helen, then, red and trembling, looked at him in frightened questioning and went to the door.
- Un mot, un seul, au nom de Dieu, [One word, only one, for God's sake,] - said Anatole.
She stopped. She so needed him to say that word, which would explain to her what had happened and to which she would answer him.
“Nathalie, un mot, un seul,” he repeated everything, apparently not knowing what to say, and repeated it until Helen approached them.
