Rainy triptych. Nikitskaya cleft - Crimeanophilia — LiveJournal

It is one of the most favorite places for tourists. Except pure south sea and a variety of beaches, in this part of the peninsula all kinds of attractions are concentrated to the maximum, visiting which does not leave time for boredom. Such places that you should definitely visit include the Nikitskaya cleft (Ayan rocks or Nikitskaya cleft). This attraction is so called because it is located near the village of Nikita - in the part opposite coastline. From the side of the Yalta-Alushta highway, you can also easily get to the Nikitskaya crevice, although it is not visible from the highway.

Geographical coordinates of the Nikitskaya cleft on the map of Crimea GPS - N 44.5188 E 34.2282.

In the village of Nikita, an excursion path begins, leading to the Nikitskaya crevice. It passes through a cedar grove, constantly rushing upwards. But very soon a flat area surrounded by rock formations opens before the eyes of travelers. This is the Nikitskaya cleft.
It has a length of more than two hundred meters, and the height of its walls in some places exceeds fifty meters. The distance from wall to wall is about thirty meters.

On the one side Nikitskaya cleft there is a rock completely entwined with vines. It remains saturated green all summer, since the microclimate here is quite humid, and the bright Crimean sun practically does not get here. By the way, such climatic conditions make it possible to grow here juniper, pistachio, strawberry, oak, dogwood, hornbeam, wild pear - and this is not a complete list of plants that Nikitskaya cleft is rich in.

The western edge of the crevice is presented in the form of a stone blockage, the height of which is commensurate with the height of the tract itself. Even in this part, fragments of dishes of ancient people were found, for whom the Nikitskaya crevice acted as a home. A deep fissure has formed in the south. To prevent its expansion, it was reinforced with a metal mesh. Many small cracks and small grottoes cover north rock. Unusual is the fact that all four sides of the crevice have a different color: black, gray, beige and even orange.

More Nikitskaya cleft is a training ground for climbers. It even equipped several routes for climbers with varying degrees of training. Many champions were brought up in this mountainous part of the Crimea.
Yes, and film crews came here more than once. "Sportloto 82", "Children of Captain Grant", "White Explosion" - all these films were created within the Nikitskaya cleft. Nikitskaya fissure is one of the most beautiful

(Nikitskaya cleft, settlement Nikita)

If you find yourself in the village of Nikita, or you are driving along the Alushta-Yalta highway (in any direction), and you have some time (an hour or two), you should definitely stop by this wonderful place. This is a wonderful rest-respite for the driver and passengers during a long road trip.

The Nikitskaya cleft is located above the trolleybus track on the outskirts of Nikita. Intuitively feeling that we are somewhere near the goal, we stop at a roadside grocery store in order to confirm our guesses. As it turned out later, the crevice we were looking for was several hundred meters away, but people shrugged their shoulders in response to all our questions. A mini-forum was formed and then One Who Should Know appeared on the horizon. “Yura, Yura!”, the saleswoman waved her hands in the direction of the expert local historian. The “professor” looked rather rumpled, but he was glad to help and laid out everything he knew. At the end of the lengthy explanations, hope lit up in Yura's eyes. Having received honestly earned two hryvnias, the newly minted guide disappeared at the door of the cafe.

The branch of the road to the Nikitskaya cleft is located at the entrance to the village from Yalta, opposite the school. The inconspicuous narrow primer is blocked by a barrier, so we park our “iron donkey” (well, our equipment does not pull on a mustang or a horse!) On the side of the road nearby.

Two hundred meters along a picturesque path, in the shade of slender cypresses, crimson ailanthus, golden figs, and we find ourselves at the entrance to a crevice. The grandiosity of the landscape appears so unexpectedly that it is simply breathtaking. “ The rocks form here a gloomy, cold gorge”, - this phrase, once expressing someone's impression of what they saw, is now shaking on the networks.

Cold - yes: only for a short time it is illuminated by the rays of the Sun, from deep cracks, even in the summer heat, it pulls cold.

But "gloomy" - no and no! It is bright, joyful, yellow-red-blue, with colored climbing flags on the walls. Nikitsky rocks favorite place climbers training from 1 to 99 years old: routes for all ages and tastes. In the rocks, looking closer, you can find a lot of clogged safety hooks. Many climbing routes are signed below.

The blocks that fell from above at the bottom of the rocky corridor formed a stone chaos, along which the path winds intricately, leading to the upper edge of the gorge. From here, the crevasse is visible through and through and impresses with its wildness: junipers and pines climb like climbers on the cliffs. Lianas - ivy and clematis - hang from stone blocks like a green stole.

The upper entrance to the cleft is crowned by the Solntsev Pyramid, named after the famous landscape expert. Rising from this pyramid to the edge of the rocks, you can admire the picturesque panorama of the coast and mountains. From here, from a height of about 250 meters above sea level, a trolleybus route is perfectly visible, the Yalta Valley, closed from the sea by Cape Ai-Todor, mountain range Ai-Petri, vineyard plantations. From the cleft along the paths you can go to the mountains.

The formation of the Nikitskaya cleft is associated with a rather rapid uplift of the Main Ridge Crimean mountains in the last, Quaternary, period of the history of the Earth. During these processes, large massifs of limestone broke off from the cliffs of the Main Ridge and gradually slid down the slope. South Shore, consisting mainly of compacted clays. Some massifs stopped at the foot of the Main Ridge, others lingered somewhere in the middle (Red Stone, Paragilmen), and still others “reached” the very sea (Genoa Rock, rocks-islets of Adalara in Gurzuf). When moving, cracks appeared in the limestone massifs, and some of them broke up into rocks and boulders.

Thus, the Soviet filmmakers got a great film set. Wild canyons, steep passes, mysterious caves filled with gold were filmed here. Each turn of the crevasse reveals new landscapes, so it's easy to create the illusion of a multi-day (and even multi-year) journey when shooting, as, for example, in Captain Grant's Children. In the movie “Treasures of the Flaming Rocks”, with the help of a fire engine, a completely African waterfall was arranged here. And the great Alexander Row generally worked fabulous miracles here.

Rocks with north side crevices are dark gray, in some places black, and from the south they are light, orange. That's all it is, this amazing gorge - wild and sweet, grandiose and miniature.

CLIMBING CENTER NIKITA

3 km from Yalta is the village of Nikita. On the opposite side of the highway from the building of the environmental complex is the Nikitskaya cleft. This monument of nature is a clear illustration of the tremendous power of the earthly forces that change the relief of the landscape. As if cut by a giant sword, the rocks form a gloomy, cold gorge. Sheer walls 25 - 30 m high hang overhead, a forest grows along the upper edge of the gorge. The 20-meter Nikitskaya cleft stretches from east to west for almost 200 m. The kingdom of gloomy rocks is complemented by stone chaos and scree, deep cracks in the limestone stratum displaced along the mountain slope, from which it draws cold even on hot summer days. These rocks are a kind of natural condenser and accumulator of moisture. All three exits from the Nikitskaya cleft are cluttered with majestic pyramidal fats. The steepness of the gorge attracts climbers, and the romantic picturesqueness of the rocks attracts artists and filmmakers. Nikitsky rocks are the only and unique rock climbing center in Crimea. On the Nikitsky rocks there are 85 hooked routes of the category from 4 to 8c+.

We ask everyone who has already been to our climbing walls more than once and those who come for the first time to pay attention to the following information:
1. The length of routes (even familiar ones) and the number of guy lines. That is: it is desirable to have a rope 60 meters long and a set of guy lines of 15 pieces.
2. In connection with the modern equipment of climbing walls descenders- rigidly fixed carabiners - for the organization of the "top belay" an additional guy is used, which is snapped into the descender (carbine) when hanging the route, and then the top rope is snapped into the guy. That allows you to save the trigger carabiner.
3. Categories of routes are predefined. Information will be updated throughout the year. Operational information on rocky routes can be obtained from Andrey Vedenmeer (Yalta).
4. Carefully read the documents governing your stay at our climbing walls. This will help create comfortable conditions for everyone: RULES for staying at the climbing walls of Big Yalta, RULES for safety when conducting classes at the climbing walls of Big Yalta

Sincerely, M.S. Panferova, Honored Coach of Ukraine, Master of Sports of International Class.

As if illustrating the process of formation of rocky relief. Climber training routes.

As if cut by a giant sword, the rocks form here a gloomy, cold gorge. Sheer walls 25–30 m high hang overhead, and a forest grows along the upper edge of the gorge. With a width of about 30 m, the Nikitskaya cleft stretches from east to west for almost 200 m. The kingdom of gloomy rocks is complemented by stone chaos and scree, deep cracks, from which it draws cold. These rocks are a kind of natural condenser and accumulator of moisture. All three exits from the cleft are cluttered with pyramidal rocks.

The steepness of the gorge attracts rock climbers, and its romantic picturesqueness attracts artists and filmmakers (here, for example, episodes of the movie "White Explosion" were filmed). From the cleft you can go to the mountains. Along the way, isolated limestone cliffs will again meet in the forest, rising in ledges along the mountain slope. Each rock is a magnificent panoramic point on the surrounding wooded ridges and the distant blue of the sea.

The peculiarity of the geological and geomorphological conditions of the Nikitskaya cleft is complemented by interesting vegetation. On a small area of the tract, one can count about a hundred species of plants (although many of them are represented by a small number of specimens). At the bottom, blackberry and clematis bushes are visible, similar to soft emerald pillows. Whips of evergreen ivy hide in the cracks. Here and there on the walls single gnarled trunks of juniper and Crimean pine nestled. You look and wonder at the amazing ability of plants to adapt to life literally on bare rocks. Above, where brown soils have formed, pine forms a continuous green cover. Grow here and keve tree, and Greek mountain ash, and fluffy oak. The evergreen tree of the small-fruited strawberry stands out with a red trunk. There are few such trees - less than a dozen. Wild pear, dogwood, hornbeam, wild rose and other trees and shrubs also grow near the gorge.

The upper entrance to the cleft is crowned by the Solntsev Pyramid, named after the famous landscape expert. Rising from this pyramid to the edge of the rocks, you can admire the picturesque panorama of the coast and mountains. From here, from a height of about 250 meters above sea level, the trolleybus route, the Yalta Valley, closed from the sea by Cape Ai-Todor, the Ai-Petri mountain range, and vineyard plantations are perfectly visible. From the cleft along the paths you can go to the mountains.

There is a spring at the entrance to the Nikitskaya cleft Ayan-Koba (named after I. Belyansky), which is a crack in the rock, partitioned off by a wall of shell rock, resting with its base on the concrete roof of the capping collector.

However, the most amazing thing about this place is its unexpectedness. Just ten meters from the road is magic corner nature - a landscape of a 30-meter kingdom, in which gloomy rocks, stone scree and chaos rule, deep cracks in the thickness of limestone that has shifted along the mountain slope.

How was the Nikitskaya cleft formed?

Its origin is associated with a rather rapid uplift of the Main Ridge in the last, Quaternary, period of the Earth's history.

When the Crimean Mountains were uplifted and warped, large massifs of limestone broke off from the cliffs of the Main Range and gradually slid down the slope of the South Coast, which consisted mainly of compacted clays.

Some arrays stopped at the beginning of their journey at the foot of the Main Ridge; others lingered somewhere in the middle of the southern coast of Crimea (like the Red Stone lying not far away or Mount Paragilmen), and still others "reached" the Black Sea (like the Genoese rock in Gurzuf and the rocks-islets of Adalary in the Gurzuf Bay). During the movement, cracks appeared in the limestone massifs, and some of them broke up into rocks and boulders.

"Machine Kiss"

Who was on the rocks near the village of Nikita, he probably saw a commemorative copper plate screwed directly to the rock wall. It marks the place where mountaineering training took place half a century ago. On the left - the route, which in those days was considered outrageous - - "Machine Kiss" - - 6C +.

The legend (represented by Valery Pavlotos, an eyewitness of the events) tells that once a girl Masha Ivanova took part in the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions competitions held on these rocks. She was the one whom we call "an athlete, a Komsomol member, a beauty" - a member of the strongest Vodnik team in the Union, all the guys, without exception, sought her attention.

So, this same Masha Ivanova, encouraging the athletes to set new records, promised her kiss to the one who would pass the route from start to finish. The guys rushed to the rock. The rock turned out to be more stubborn, she didn’t care about Masha’s kisses, she, as if alive, dumped the guys. Athletes are discouraged. Then, to encourage them, the climber promised “anything you like” to the conqueror of the route. And then Shura Gubanov, the most famous climber at that time, went into single combat with the rock. He climbed and climbed, higher and higher: half of the route was covered, another quarter, so he got to the ledge under the very top ... Masha began to bite her lips nervously: didn’t she get excited when making promises! And Shura went to the goal. There was very little left, he grabbed a dry tree that grew under a cliff, and ... it shattered with a deafening crack!!! You should have heard the cry of the Machine of Joy when the contender for its prize was doomed to hang on the insurance ...

How to get there?

To get to the Nikitskaya cleft, you need to get to the western outskirts of the village of Nikita above Massandra. Behind a small meadow clearing cut obliquely by a well-filled path, a steep-walled massif of limestone rose. Approaching it, we find ourselves at a huge opening in the rock. At the entrance, like a stone guard, a pyramidal rock rose, torn into two parts. The impression is that some giant tore the stone mass in half and, slightly shifting lower part, carved out a huge stone corridor - Nikitskaya cleft.

At an altitude of about two hundred and fifty meters above sea level, not far from Yalta, there is one of the Crimean sights, which is definitely worth visiting for tourists who find themselves in these places. The name of this attraction is the Nikitskaya cleft, or, as some call it, the Ayan rocks. It is hardly worth highlighting these places as a separate item for a trip, but as one of the components tourist route, or as a place to rest while driving along the Alushta-Yalta highway, Nikitskaya cleft can be recommended to all travelers. The eye-catching reliefs, the gracefulness of the landscape cannot but please the eyes of those who visit this place.

Some information about the Nikitsky cleft

The cleft is located on the outskirts of the urban-type settlement Nikita, on its western side. At the entrance to the village there is a branch road leading directly to the cleft. Entry into the cleft by motor transport is prohibited for any type of motor transport, since these places have the status of a natural monument. Together with the Uchan-Su waterfall, it is part of the Yalta nature reserve. The passage through the cleft presents no difficulties. At the very entrance rises a limestone rock, as if cut into two parts. Bare steep slopes about 30 meters high hang over the gorge, creating a gloomy feeling. During the day, the sun's rays practically do not penetrate into the crevasse, so it is always fresh and cool here. The length of the Nikitskaya cleft is about 200 meters.

The beauties of these places are captured in cinema, in local folklore, in the paintings of artists.

natural landfill

The surfaces of the rocks were chosen for their training by climbers. The slopes of the Nikitskaya cleft, perhaps the only and truly unique place for rock climbing in the Crimea. Groups of lovers of this extreme activity can almost always be found in the gorge. The mild climate throughout the year contributes to the influx of rock climbers to these places. 85 routes of varying difficulty provide both beginners and experienced climbers with the opportunity to enjoy the climb. Groups are regularly lifted here from different countries peace.
