Nai Yang Beach is uncrowded and pleasant. Nai yang beach - the most calm and authentic beach in Phuket North side of the beach

Away from most of the sights and activities of the island. Just a relaxed atmosphere and tranquility are loved by tourists who have chosen this beach for relaxation.

If you are looking for entertainment, leisure, excursions, you will certainly be disappointed. We decided to drop by Nai Yang Beach before our flight from Phuket and got inspired by the local mood.

In this post, I traditionally talk in detail about the beach, share a selection the best hotels, cafes, restaurants, I explain how to get there.

Description of Nai Yang Beach

As far as I understand, there is no clear boundary between Nai Yang and northern beach Mai Cao. For clarity, I identified it in a bay between two capes, this is clearly visible on the map (it is at the end of the post). The beach is located on national park Sirinat is 2 km long and about 30-35 meters wide.

The southernmost part of Nai Yang Beach is absolutely not suitable for swimming, there is a very small and strong influence of low tide, besides, a river flows into the sea. But there are no people at all. A gravel road leads here.

South side of the beach

A little further - the main crowd of people, sunbeds stand in two rows, but no one interferes with anyone. There is a small strip of palm trees and other trees that provide shade. There are also a few simple cafes, and many more restaurants across the road. It is here that the main cluster of hotels, massage parlors, there are even several bars, but they are far from the noise of Patong.

The middle part of the beach is the best. There are no hotels or cafes right on the shore, but big trees grow, a real forest between the beach and the road. In addition, there are almost no people. Sometimes locals come to a picnic in the evening, lay out mats and sit down to eat.

just nobody

Huge trees provide great shade

The northern part is a little less suitable for swimming, boats are parked here. But from here best view for aircraft taking off and landing. If you want the planes to fly right over your head at 50 meters, head to Mai Khao Beach. Travel on the road to this part is paid, there is a national park ticket office: 200 baht per adult, 100 baht per child. Locals pay less. There are almost no cafes here, and from housing - only the park's bungalows. By night, all life generally freezes in pitch darkness.

The sand on Nai Yang is medium-sized, light in color, generally pleasant. The water in the sea is clean, and the entry is quite smooth, although steeper than, for example. Personally, I really liked it here.

Attractions and entertainment

You will not find special entertainment on the beach. From aquatic species sports - only kayak rentals. There are several bars with a relaxed reggae atmosphere.

On the other hand, all the necessary infrastructure is available: ATMs, exchangers, cafes, a good choice hotels, there are shops 7-11, and the market.

Street along the beach

Immediate interesting places- it's a water park north of the airport, Bang Pae waterfall and gibbon rehabilitation center on the opposite eastern side of Phuket, Wat Phra Thong temple.

You can walk to the highway from the airport and take a bus to. There, the town itself is worth a look, and go to the shopping centers. From there you can also go to other beaches: but keep in mind that this will take a long time.

Hotels on Nai Yang Beach

The Nai Yang Beach area has a good selection of hotels ranging from budget to luxury. Several hotels are located on the road along the beach, some a little deeper.

Due to not the highest popularity of the beach, there is a good value for money. The first line is occupied by high-quality 4 * and 5 * hotels, among which are the famous The Slate 5 * and Mariott Resort & Spa 5 *. Away from the coast you can find more budget accommodation. The cheapest prices are in hotels and condos on the highway, at a distance of 500-800 meters from the sea.

Cafes and Restaurants in Nai Yang Beach

The cheapest food in the area is the local fresh market, where fruits and vegetables are also sold. It is located on the way to the main road near the temple (I marked it on the map below), and is open from about 16:00 to 20:00, it may open earlier on weekends.

Typical cafe along the road

boss bar- a great place to dine in a relaxed atmosphere with live music. Located very close to the beach, they have good seafood and fruit shakes. Prices are average.

Ma Ma Nang- a small restaurant in the middle of the beach. Delicious soups, seafood, pizza and french fries for those who are tired of Thai cuisine. Fruit smoothies are also ok! Located right on the sand on the beach.

Peony Coffee & Restaurant– in addition to classic Thai cuisine, coffee is served, a good place for breakfast.

Sea Almond Chilled Restaurant & Bar— great location right on the beach with a gorgeous view, a large selection of different beers.

The Good View— a simple and inexpensive cafe right on the sand, moderate prices.

How to get there?

The distance between the airport and the beach is about 2 km, so getting there is not a problem. Another thing is that local taxi drivers ask for insane money for such a distance - at the counter at the exit from the arrivals hall, the price is 500 baht! In general, bargain.

If you are without large bags and small children, a reasonable option is to walk, about 3 km. A bus to Phuket Town also runs along the highway from the airport, but not very often and does not stop at the beach itself.

The most comfortable option is to order a transfer online through a service verified by tourists. You will be met with a sign upon arrival, the bags will be taken to the car and quickly delivered to the place, and you will already know the price in advance and you will not have to bargain on the spot.

Familiarize yourself with the law on the official website of the President of the Russian Federation FRESH VIEW. ONE YEAR LATER.
Exactly a year later, to the day, on May 23, we arrived in Phuket. I really wanted to do it again quiet place and this hotel. Ironically, they settled in the same room, 4016. Last year I wrote very detailed review about everything, you can read it by clicking on the link TopHotels
All usefulness and descriptions are there, I will not repeat myself. I will describe the changes and fresh impressions.
It didn't work out right from the start. Phuket met with heavy rain. Since this time we arrived with a small child, the question of whether or not to pay 1000 baht for early check-in did not arise. At the first clearing, we rather went to the beach, so often remembered by us all year. And here we were in for a shock!

SAD NEWS NUMBER ONE. The entire coast was one big continuous garbage heap along its entire length. Mountains of household and natural waste, old networks, some fragments of buildings and endless plastic, plastic, plastic... I wanted to cry. Yes, in fact, almost cried. Well, we couldn’t change anything, we had to live with it and somehow adapt to it.

CHANGES TO THE HOTEL.
To date, a fairly large part of the hotel is closed for repairs. Out of reach is the third pool, a wonderful alley leading to the lobby and being calling card hotel, aviary with turtles. There are almost no outlandish living creatures that inhabit this small piece of the jungle - a variety of lizards, butterflies, interesting birds, iguanas. Perhaps due to repairs, and perhaps due to the fact that all the bushes are periodically watered with poison from insects. Mosquitoes and midges, however, are not getting smaller, they are desperately eating. Squirrels and geckos remained in abundance. Well, dogs. Chiquito is alive and well, Lisito is somewhere in dog heaven. The road to the lobby and the beach is now bypassed, along the newly opened building, in which transit Chinese spend the night. The road is not burdensome, pretty, just a bit longer. The fact that the hotel is being renovated does not affect the rest in any way - you can’t hear anything, there is no dirt at all. If a person has not been to a hotel before, then he will not guess that in fact he is much larger. The territory is still clean and fragrant, there is still no cleaning of the rooms, breakfasts are edible, and sometimes very tasty. The Chinese do not bother at all with the commissioning of a new building. The main thing is not to go to breakfast early, but somewhere around 9-10.
But back to the sea and the beach - we are all going to it. I wrote about the beach. Until the very departure, it was never cleaned, it only got dirtier with each tide. We ourselves had to clear the strip from sunbeds (the Thais clean a narrow strip near them) to the sea (were with a small child), we would have lived like that, but another trouble came from where they did not expect.
SAD NEWS NUMBER TWO. This year, the sea is teeming with jellyfish, moreover, poisonous. In our family of five, three were stung, one of them twice and one three times! The burns were of varying severity (this depends on the size of the jellyfish and the promptness of the actions taken), the most severe - two days of incessant vomiting, wild dizziness, diarrhea, fever, and aches. This is in addition to very severe pain and scars. Because for the first time we were not ready for such a turn of events and had no idea how to behave. Then the poison was immediately neutralized and the consequences were easier.
By the way, about the weather in the low season. Normal, good sunny weather. It rained intermittently, short and refreshing. passed once tropical downpour great strength at night, but in the morning everything was dry and fragrant with cleanliness. So the weather is fine. Another thing is that this is the season of storms in the open ocean and mud and jellyfish bring just them. There are no storms on Nai Yang due to being surrounded by a coral reef, but it still carries all sorts of rubbish. Deprived of a full-fledged beach and the sea, we decided to rent a car and drive to other beaches. We took it right at the hotel, 1000 baht for the first day, then everything is cheaper. (Toyota Corolla medium shabby). Traveled all known and unknown beaches and stopped at Nai Harn. Very beautiful and very clean white sand beach, water like on the Similans (who is in the subject). With Nai Yang, in his current state, is not comparable. When there are no waves or they are small, you can’t imagine better, it’s very beautiful, there are sunbeds, lifeguards, there is where to eat. But when the waves - you can’t swim, these are real ocean waves, which is why the beach is so loved by tourists who are keen on surfing.

SAD NEWS NUMBER THREE - JELLIES ARE ON ALL BEACHES! On Nai Harn, they also received a sickly burn. We rested five times in the low season and did not know about such a misfortune, and now. It was not possible to buy enough. Everywhere jellyfish were seen either right on the shore or in the sea. To swim or not - everyone decides for himself, this is his risk zone, but when you are with a three-year-old child (and children suffer from burns much harder, up to cardiac arrest from pain shock), then the choice between yes and no is not worth it. In general, it is very convenient with a car, we traveled all over the island, looked at everything that had not been seen before. We went to the aquarium. Rather, an aquarium, by the way, that's what it's called. Several containers with different fish and a glass tunnel. You can take a picture in it, but in fact it is no more than five meters. Took half an hour to see everything. So-so. The cost is 180 baht per adult, children up to 108cm tall are free.
Another sadness, number four. While putting the child to bed, she noticed that ants were running over him. Not one or two, but a straight path was laid. She lifted the pillow and was stunned - during the day an anthill formed under the pillows and the mattress. Picked up the child and at the reception. I don’t know English, by virtue of my abilities I depicted a bed and an evil ant on a piece of paper, aggravated it with the epithet “many-many” ... When we returned to the room, they had already poisoned everything and changed the beds. Fast and efficient.

Something has changed in the ROOM over the year. Repair, of course, was not done, but there are some pleasant little things. For example, they changed the shower - now it is very good, with a large, adjustable and removable square watering can with a very strong water pressure. Hot water is always available, and it is hot, not room temperature. Sockets were not added. The bed linen is white, the mattresses and pillows are comfortable, the size of the bed is amazing. An iron and an ironing board are brought to the room upon request at the reception or by phone (the iron is pre-revolutionary, without a steamer). Internet is free, there were interruptions, but short-term ones. The speed is normal. The TV was hung on the wall, the table was freed and it became much more convenient. There is still one Russian channel, but no longer "Rusphuket TV", but the First Channel, broadcast to Germany. It differs from our time of release of the usual programs.

ADVICE. Going on vacation, we, like everyone else, always take a bunch of medicines with us for all occasions. So you don't have to do this. In Thailand, all these medicines are available, only much better and much cheaper. There are many more that we don't have. Due to such an unlucky holiday in terms of health, we came across this closely and I assure you with all responsibility that their means are much more effective, even with the active ingredient of the same name. And in general, there are first aid supplies in every Family Mart for a penny. The best pharmacy is opposite FM, the Thai woman speaks good English and has a translator program in her computer. Our smartphone translator in the Russian-Thai mode is complete nonsense, you must first do a Russian-English translation, and then from English to Thai.
In general, it did not work out to fully enjoy the sea this season (and we are in Phuket for the seventh time), all bathing is very hasty and with constant looking back. Who with small children - think, there is only a pool, moreover, one - in the second, our yellow-faced brothers are constantly rinsing in an unmeasured amount. True, our pool, which is in the TROPICAL WING zone, although small, but clean, is surrounded by fragrant plumeria, there are almost no people in it, sunbeds are always free, the water is clean and almost hot. Not a single Chinese was seen in it during the entire vacation. Only our Russian children in the amount of one, maximum two.

I can say for myself that I probably will not come here again. There will always be a fear that the picture with the beach and the sea will be repeated. It's like a lottery. Of course, this has nothing to do with the hotel - the beach is municipal, jellyfish in the low season with storms migrate wherever they want, but we are flying to the sea. And he was not at all on this our vacation. I have never seen such a srach on the shore. There was almost no crystal water, like last year. Plus countless hordes of mosquitoes and small midges, which everyone calls for some reason "beach fleas".

TIP number two. ON THE EVE of departure, after cleaning, carefully count everything in the room - the number of towels, plates, spoons, cups. History repeated itself last year. The maid tried to steal a plate taken for painting (she was caught red-handed) and two towels were not reported to the last cleaning. Don't think it's an accident. In this hotel (as, indeed, in many others), this is a common practice. Then, when you hand over the number, you are billed for all these losses and you will have to pay, because you will not have time to sort it out. I just don't know who in this hotel is the proactive link in this commercial undertaking - the hotel management or the maid-reception team. However, be careful, their penalty prices are not small.

SUMMING UP. The place is still calm and pleasant, almost homey. The hotel area is small, but green and well-groomed. The rooms, although old, but for a short life they have everything you need and work properly. If, as we did last year, we are lucky with clean beach and a jellyfish-free sea, then you will have a wonderful vacation. What I wish you from the bottom of my heart!

In the northern part of Phuket, not far from Mai Khao, Nai Yang beach is a small beach, a cozy and small coastal zone, the total length of which does not reach three kilometers. On Nai Yang you can have a good rest all year round, surrounded by the shade of casuarinas that border the small bays. A soothing blend of pure azure sea, as well as golden soft sand with the most necessary infrastructure, has been successfully implemented on Nai Yang Beach.

Amazing historical facts

Mai Khao, Nai Yang as well as Nai Thon are permanent members of the Sirinat National Park. Back in 1980, when these beaches were rainforests untouched by man, a special committee unanimously decided to preserve this territory as a national treasure for travelers, tourists and, of course, the local population. vegetable and animal world in the park are quite diverse. Closer to the banks of Nai Yang, mangor forests grow. There are trails to each unique tree or plant, indicating its type and name.

If you want to live in the park, you can do it in your tent or rent a bungalow. The price of such privacy with nature will cost 200 baht, renting a bungalow - 1000 baht. For all questions regarding the settlement, you can contact the main office of the park, which can be found in the central part of Nai Yang Beach.

Hotels on Nai Yang Beach

On the bay with the same name as the beach, there are practically no strong currents, as well as high waves, since coral reef is sufficient protection for shallow water. Sunset and coast near the sea, as well as its depth, change from south to north. So, in the southern part - the depth of the sea is shallower, but in the north - deep. For example, near the Imperial Adamas hotel, the low tide consists of stones, and in order to swim, you will have to go a little towards the north.

In places where Nai Yang is most comfortable for swimming, there are several popular hotels. Hotels are designed for the budget of any visitor - from five-star with deluxe rooms to three-star, with standard service. There is a road between the hotel and the beach, but you can rarely see a car on it. There are few bars, cafes and restaurants on the beach, but you can buy drinks literally at every step. Beach guests can rent an umbrella and two mattresses, for which you will have to pay about 200 baht for the whole day.

Beach entertainment

Since the beach is a national treasure, various motorized activities in the sea are strictly prohibited. But here you can learn surfing and kiting. Near the reef you can go snorkeling, and you can also rent canoes. For connoisseurs of a calm and relaxing holiday, there are spas and traditional Thai massage centers. Some hotels offer yoga, karate, tennis and Thai boxing classes. For those who like to learn something new, Thai cooking courses are provided, as well as a massage school.

Three times a week near Nai Yang there is an exotic and colorful local market. In addition to fruits and vegetables, you can buy ethnic clothes, colorful jewelry, souvenirs, and handicrafts here.

Beach Attractions

Basically, all the unique attractions of Thailand are its beaches, and Nai Yang Beach is no exception. A favorite place for many pilgrims, Wat Nai Yang Temple is located right on the beach. Here you can find peace, meditate, and, according to tourists, find peace of mind. In order to visit the temple, your knees, abdomen, shoulders and cleavage must be covered. Entrance to the temple in shoes is strictly prohibited.

You can also soothe your soul and body in the spa salon, which is quite a lot on the beach. The cost of a massage in such a salon will be from 800 baht.

In addition to the amazing territory of the park and a small garden, the abbot's house is also located on the beach. This house was built only from wood in 1954. When there are a lot of tourists on the beach, special breathing practices are held in the rector's house. The duration of one lesson is only an hour, but there is no price - it strongly conducts them completely free of charge.

Facilities on the beach

Local sun lounger vendors are truly cheerful and helpful people. You can buy a sun lounger in the central or main part of the beach, where basically everyone relaxes. Here, on the shore of Nai Yang Beach, there are several travel agencies who will find you entertainment: exciting tours, boat trips to small islands or around the coast.

It is very important that the beach has public toilets and showers. You can find them with reverse side shopping lane. The cost of using the shower is 10 baht, the toilet is 5 baht.

Close to Nayang Private Resort Beach Resort» there is a currency exchange office and several working ATMs.

How quickly to get to the beach?

The beach is located just ten minutes by car from the airport. You can get on the 402 highway in your own car or take a taxi.

Beach weather

The weather conditions on the beach are ideal for families with children. There are practically no waves on the sea, and if they are, then they are not of significant height. The sun is soft on the beach. The air temperature ranges from 24 to 38 degrees Celsius.

Nai Yang Phuket is a wonderful place to relax from the bustle of the city and civilization. You are waiting for the clear sea, cozy hotels and White sand. Have a nice holiday!

Nai Yang Beach Yang Beach) is calm and cozy beach Phuket. You can find it somewhere in the northwestern part of the island. This beach is not very big. Its length barely reaches 3 km. The sand under your feet is like golden grains of sand, and the water sparkles with azure tones.

Description of the beach

This place is suitable for those who love silence and loneliness - there are few tourists. And in summer time, for a whole hour of walking along the beach, you can not meet anyone at all. The most populated part of the beach is the central one, there are mini markets, massage parlors, restaurants, bars and tour desks on the only street along the beach.

Entry into the water, depth and waves

The entrance to the water is relatively fast, the depth increases after 10 meters, provided that today there is no serious low tide. During the monsoons, there are no strong waves in Nai Yang Bay, the coral reef protects the shallow water from the elements. The entrance to the sea here is very gentle and sometimes the water leaves for tens of meters from the shore. In a strong ebb, you can generally forget about swimming, you won’t reach the depth. Also on the southernmost part near small island full of stones.

Sun beds and shade

The northern and southern parts of the beach are almost completely deserted, but you can sit on the sand under the shade of trees. On the shore there are sunbeds with umbrellas. In the southern part, there is generally a casuarina forest.

Infrastructure

Water activities include kayaking and kite surfing. Wat Nai Yang temple is located in the vicinity of the beach, and for nature lovers there is a great opportunity to walk through the mangrove forests of the park. Like many other small beaches, Nai Yang is a refuge from civilization, the hustle and bustle of the city.

There are no nearby shopping centers, nor market squares, no business buildings, not, moreover, centers nightlife. You can have a bite to eat in local coastal cafes or restaurants at hotels. As the sun goes down, life stops here, and the beach becomes gloomy and abandoned.

Only where the hotels are located is there any movement. There are few hotels on the beach and they are all close to the coast. There are affordable bamboo bungalows. As I wrote above, the whole civilization is located in the central part: cafes, massage parlors, a couple of minimarkets, currency exchangers.

If you need 7/11, then you need to go to the neighboring highway, from the central part it is about 15-20 minutes. Around the same place there is a Thai market, working on weekends. Well, very close in 5-10 minutes drive is Phuket airport.

Houses and hotels on the beach

Be sure to check for discounts or special offers on an excellent service. It will quickly and easily show you discounts in all existing booking systems. In the same Asia, for example, there are a lot of offers on Agoda.com, which are much more profitable than in the same hotels in the Booking.com system.

If you want to book a hotel here in advance or look for accommodation on other beaches, I have good rating and reviews.

How to find the beach

If you still decide to go there, then first you will be in for a surprise. Only taxis go from there, no other public transport does not go there. Of course, if you have your own vehicle, then there are no special problems. You need to follow the signs and get on the Thep Krasat Tri highway. From there turn onto highway 402 leading to the beach.
