Eleftherios Kyriakou Venizelos is a well-known Greek politician in the first half of the 20th century. From 1910 to 1933 he repeatedly served as prime minister. In 1928, Eleftherio Venizelos again took over as head of government. During this period of time, he seeks the normalization of relations between Greece and neighboring states, and also settles a number of disputes over territories with Turkey, Yugoslavia and Italy. In 1929, an economic crisis broke out in Greece, which led to a significant decline in the political weight of Venizelos.
