How to get from umaga to venice. Distance from Umag to Venice

One of my favorite countries. Last year I rested in Umag - the very southern city this country. Wonderful place. But there are many tourists, especially athletes, because it hosts annual tennis tournaments, the symbol of the city is a tennis racket, there is even a tennis academy.

But the rest in Umag ended with a trip to Venice for a few days. Do you think I'm crazy? No, I just love to travel. :)

Bus

One way to travel from Umag to Venice is by bus. This route is served by Flixbus, a well-known company in Western and Central Europe.

True, there is one nuance here - only one bus per day runs between the cities, which leaves at 15:45 from the main bus station Umag.

Therefore, I would recommend that you check the departure schedule of this bus, because everything can change by the time you travel along the route. All information on this matter can be found on the carrier's website (I will indicate this Internet resource just below) or directly at the Umag bus station. You will spend three hours and forty minutes on the road with such transport. This is relatively short, given the fact that between the cities a little more than two hundred kilometers.

Buses arrive not at the main station of Venice, but at one of the districts of this city - Mestre, at a stop that is located next to railway station.

Ticket price

A bus pass will cost 96 Croatian kunas (13 euros).

Purchase

You can buy tickets in one of the following ways:

  • at the box office of the Umag bus station (but get ready for the fact that tickets may not be available);

Ferry

If you want exotic and extraordinary get from Umag to Venice, then choose water transport- Ferries from Venezia Lines run between these cities.

They start from the port of Umag.

But there is one huge minus here - ferries are available only a few times a month. Even in the summer season, when there is a demand for such services, you can not use them every day.

For me, for example, this is strange, but the fact remains. So always check the ferry schedule and plan your trip well in advance. The official website of Venezia Lines, which I will indicate below, will come in handy for you. The duration of the ferry trip is a little less than three hours. This transport is small in size, do not expect to see luxury ships. :) There is only a bunch of seats for passengers, most of them are not even equipped with a bar or cafe where you can drink coffee. Therefore, it is worth taking care of such things on your own.

Ticket price

Traveling in this way is not cheap. There are two categories of seats on the ferry, according to which the price is determined. In particular:

  • the standard for an adult will cost 497 Croatian kunas (67 euros), for a child - 311 kunas (42 euros);
  • VIP for an adult costs 607 Croatian kunas (82 euros), and for a child - 423 kunas (57 euros).

Purchase

If you want to buy tickets in advance to be sure that your trip will come true, then book online. You can also apply for a ticket at the ticket office of the port of Umag.

A car

If none of the options is suitable, because in both cases it is necessary to correctly plan the route and adjust to the cruising schedule public transport, then you can use the car to travel from Umag to Venice. But this option is relevant only if you initially travel around Croatia in your own car, because you won’t be able to rent it through.

A trip by such transport will take almost three hours, because the roads in Croatia, Slovenia and Italy are just perfect, so it’s fast. :)

The only point is the motorways in all three European countries paid. In Croatia and Slovenia, the route will run through free routes, but in Italy you will have to pay approximately 13 euros for the fare. Payment is made on the spot in relation to the number of kilometers covered.

Outcome

I travel by bus. I don't like ferries, I get sick. :) Yes, and the traffic schedule is not very suitable - "water" flights are available only four or five times a month.
