The highest hill. The highest water slide in the world

May 8, 1976 there was a real revolution in the world of roller coasters. Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park in California opened the world's first steel loop coaster. In our time, a dead loop is far from the worst thing that the creators of attractions are ready to offer to adrenaline lovers who line up in long lines around the world to tickle their nerves. We offer you a virtual ride on the ten scariest rollercoasters in the world!

Attention: for the faint of heart, those who are afraid of heights and people with a weak vestibular apparatus, it is better not to look further!

(Total 10 photos + 10 videos)

1. Silver Star, Europa Park, Rust (Baden), Germany

The Silver Star, the highest slide in Europe, has been tickling German nerves of steel since 2002. Using a system of chain lifts, they will first slowly lift you to a height of 73 meters, and then they will drop and circle at speeds up to 130 km / h.

2. Tower of Terror II, Dreamworld, Queensland, Australia

The first "Tower of Fear", opened in 1997, managed to scare more than 8 million Australians, and in 2010 it was launched again and became even scarier. Riders leave the tunnel and reach the top of the vertical tower in 7 seconds with a maximum speed of 161 km/h. At the top of a 35-meter tower, they freeze for a moment, after which they fall down in horror.

3. Steel Dragon 2000, Nagashima Spa Land, Kuwana, Mie Prefecture, Japan

The Steel Dragon is no longer the fastest or tallest slide, but it is still the longest. And also the most expensive ever made, thanks to the amount of steel used in the construction, it is necessary to make the slides resistant to earthquakes. But, even if we do not take earthquakes into account, this monster definitely deserves its place in our top ten.

4. Kingda Ka, Six Flags Great Adventure, New Jersey, USA

Kingda Ka is a long-lived rollercoaster in the world, but to this day remains the tallest roller coaster in the world with a dizzying record of 139 meters. However, during its history, the attraction had many problems. In 2005, the slide suffered a variety of mechanical damage that affected the starting engine and rope system. Fortunately, all the problems were completely fixed, but in 2009 Kingda Ka was struck by lightning, causing new damage. Now this is really scary...

5. Intimidator 305, Kings Dominion, Virginia, USA

A relative newcomer to the rollercoaster world, the 305 Intimidator (it's scary just the name...) won the 2010 Golden Ticket Award for Best New Rollercoaster.

6. Dodonpa, Fuji-Q Highland, Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.

How can slides surprise thrill-seekers if they are no longer the fastest, highest or longest? Doponda knows the answer - the biggest acceleration! Confusing riders with not the most frisky start, Doponda suddenly accelerates to 172 km / h in ... attention ... 1.8 seconds! And then tosses you up and down in an almost vertical loop.

7. Superman: Escape from Krypton, Six Flags Magic Mountain, California, USA

Until 2011, Superman: Escape from Krypton was known simply as Superman: Escape. But after a new coat of paint and the addition of rearward-moving carts, a new amusement superhero was born. With speeds up to 160 km/h and climbing to a height of 126.5 meters, the updated "Superman" knows exactly how to get you a shot of adrenaline.

8. Thunder Dolphin, Tokyo Dome City, Tokyo, Japan

The Thunder Dolphin is rather modest in terms of speed, height and acceleration compared to other participants in the list, but it has its own unique "trick" thanks to which it got into it. The path of the "Dolphin" passes through the concrete ring, and also goes around the real building at a distance tickling the nerves.

9. Formula Rossa, Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Formula Rossa - on this moment the fastest slides in the world. Accelerate to 240 km / h in less than 5 seconds. The speed is so high that those sitting in the front row have to wear special goggles so as not to injure their eyes.

Another slide from the same park, but worth it. These slides are "with bells and whistles", and in the truest sense of the word. Eejanaika is the so-called 4D roller coaster, which actually means that in addition to the usual ups, downs and loops, you also get ... 360-degree rotating chairs! Can rides get even scarier?

It is difficult for adventure seekers to stay at home within four walls - they are always looking for something new and interesting for themselves. For this, rides in amusement parks are great, which can give you a real adrenaline rush. But today there are many more ways than crazy rollercoaster rides.

And if you want to up the ante, there are theme parks in the world that have some of the tallest waterslides! And here are some of them:

1. Waterslide "Verrückt" (Kansas City, Missouri, USA)

Since 2014, Kansas has been home to the tallest waterslide in the world. Towering 168 feet (51.21 m), its starting point is even higher than Niagara Falls, and a three-person boat can travel nearly 45 miles per hour (72 km/h).

Unfortunately (or fortunately), adrenaline junkies won't be able to experience the thrill soon, as the waterslide is scheduled to close for the foreseeable future after an accident occurred on it in 2016.

2. Waterslide "Kilimanjaro" (Mato Grosso, Brazil)

Located within the Águas Quentes State Park, the Kilimanjaro is only a few feet lower than the aquatic Verrückt at 164 feet (50 m).

They say that this slide is so steep that the body practically does not touch its surface until you are at the very bottom.

3. Waterslide "Insano" (Fortaleza, Brazil)

Located in the park "Beach Park" ( beach park) on tourist resort in Brazil, "Insano" is a waterslide that will take you down at 65 miles per hour (104.61 km/h).

That means it's not going down by boat: it's just you and the slide, which is 135 feet (41.15 m) high. The ride ends with a four-second splash fall into the pool.

4. Scorpion’s Tail Waterslide (Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, USA)

The Scorpion Tail Waterslide is located at Noah's Ark Waterpark, considered the largest amusement park in the United States.

The uniqueness of this water slide is that you do not even have to make an effort to go down - a special mechanism will do it for you. All you have to do is stand on the platform inside the pod and it will open up underneath you, forcing you to quickly descend the 400-foot (121.92 m) covered slide.

5. Jumeirah Sceirah Waterslide (Dubai, UAE)

Another super-extreme waterslide for real adrenaline addicts is located in Dubai, in the Wild Wadi Waterpark. It's like the Scorpion's Tail waterslide, where the floor you step on drops out from under your feet and you begin your fast-paced 102-foot (31.09 m) adventure at 80 miles per hour (128.75 km/h).

6. Waterslide "Free Fall Kamikaze" (Free Fall Kamikaze) (Algarve, Portugal)

Kamikaze Free Fall is a 104-foot (31.7 m) waterslide built in 2015 at Aquashow Water Park. You will get pleasure comparable to a ride on a winding roller coaster. A journey at a speed of 70 km/h with a length of almost 129 meters!

7. Waterslide "Leap of Faith" (Leap of Faith) ( resort complex Paradise Island Atlantis Resort, Bahamas)

If descending an extraordinarily high waterslide is a piece of cake for you, Leap of Faith might test your strength.

Located at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas and surrounded by a real paradise, this waterslide will give you a colorful adventure on a 60-foot (18.29 m) slide.

An additional challenge is to slide into a pond with sharks swimming in it. Yes, that's right - sharks. But don't worry! You will stay safe because you will "dive" into this body of water on a covered slide.

8. Waterslides "Cliffhanger" and "Screaming Serpents" ("Cliffhanger" and "Screaming Serpents") (Galveston, Texas, USA)

Schlitterbahn Water Parks has two attractions for adrenaline junkies. Either you go to the Cliffhanger and enjoy the 81-foot (24.69 m) drop, or choose the Screaming Serpents for another spectacular immersive ride. In general, if the adrenaline rush is your thing, then it is better to ride both slides!

Every year June 21 is the summer solstice. This is the longest day in all 12 months. Some will spend it in an apartment with air conditioning on. Others are in the backyard of the house, grilling something. But perhaps the best place to spend this day is the water park. Going to the usual rides is too commonplace. In order to make your visit memorable for a lifetime, you should go to those places where there are the most terrible and crazy water slides in the world. Below, we'll list seven of these rides that are found around the world, from the United States to the United States. United Arab Emirates. Riding on any of these water slides is guaranteed to be remembered for the rest of your life.

"Insano" (Brazil)

Located 55 miles south of Fortaleza along the northeast coast of Brazil. It is here that the Insano slide attracts "adrenaline junkies". Its height reaches 140 feet, which is approximately equal to the height of a 14-story building. At the moment, it is the highest in the world and is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. When descending, you can accelerate to an incredible 100 kilometers per hour. Since most of the time a person is in free fall, the trip lasts only 4-5 seconds.

"Brainwash" (Florida)

Orlando is famous not only for the Disney Recreation Center, but also for this waterslide. From two to four people can ride on it. A vertical fall from a height of 55 feet is accompanied by audio and video effects.

"Akvalup" (Slovenia)

This attraction has a 360-degree loop that allows you to accelerate to 60 kilometers per hour. The hill is located on the territory thermal springs, so during the descent you can enjoy beautiful views.

"Fizer" (Germany)

It is located in the city of Erding near Munich. On this slide, you can accelerate to 70 kilometers per hour.

Summit Plummet (Florida)

Located at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. A 36-meter slope will allow extreme sportsmen to test their strength. Well, the height of a 12-story building will allow you to move down the hill at a speed of 90 kilometers per hour.

Scorpion Tail (Wisconsin)

Located right in the middle of the state, 55 miles north of Madison. The height of the slide is about the same as that of a ten-story building. The length of the descent is 122 meters, but the maximum acceleration speed is small - only 15 kilometers per hour.

Leap of Faith (Bahamas)

The hill is a copy of the Mayan temple. The main highlight of this attraction is that its pipe passes through the pool with swimming sharks. So when descending through an 18-meter tunnel, one can only hope for the strength of its walls.

Each vacationer in his own way represents water entertainment. For some, it is enough just to splash in the pool with clean water. Well, there are also extreme people who, for complete happiness, definitely need the highest water slide in the world. Every year there are more and more such entertainments in the world and the slides are getting higher. The main part of such entertainment is located overseas, but in Europe there are several attractions that can be safely attributed to the highest water slides.

Spain, VertiGo ride

In 2013, the world's tallest capsule coaster opened in Benidorm, Spain. The height of this slide is 33 meters, but there is also a lower one nearby - for those who are afraid to immediately climb to such a height. The first daredevils who dared to try such entertainment simply took their breath away from the sensations. Some shouted, others crossed themselves, others simply closed their eyes so as not to see everything that was happening. This is not surprising, because the speed with which a person rushes down a special capsule is about 100 km / h.

On the opening day of the slide, a large number of people gathered in the pool who wanted to see the faces of those who dared such an adventure. Inside the capsule, under the feet of a person, there is a special hatch that opens at the signal of the attraction worker. A moment - and the extreme is already flying down, and the speed of the fall is constantly increasing. Before letting tourists on the slide, it was tested by lifeguards working in this water park.

United Arab Emirates, Dubai, Jumeirah Sceirah

The Middle East also did not want to lag behind, and a capsule water slide was built in the Emirates, which is in no way inferior to the Spanish attraction. After the vacationer climbs to a height of 33 meters, he will face a rapid descent along the plastic chute at great speed. After the initial acceleration, it seems to the tourist that everything will go smoothly, but somewhere in the middle of the way, he suddenly falls down, almost in free fall. It is this section of the slide that is the most attractive for thrill-seekers.

For the entire period of operation of this attraction, no accidents were recorded on this slide (except, of course, the loss of some bathing accessories on the way down).

Brazil, Fortaleza, Insano waterslide

This attraction is not only the highest water slide in the world, but also the record holder of the Guinness Book of Records. It is located in the Beach Park water park, not far from the Brazilian city of Fortaleza. Her name Insano means insane in translation, and one cannot but agree with this. The height of this slide is equal to the height of a 14-story building (41 meters). Not only is it very high, the descent along it is almost vertical, which further adds to the extreme for tourists. For those 5 seconds that the descent lasts, a person develops a speed of up to 105 km / h, and this is the speed of a rushing car.

After a successful descent, the vacationer has the opportunity to watch a video that captures his adventure, and even take the recording with him as a keepsake. These scenes can be viewed over and over again. True, access to such entertainment is not available to everyone. Entrance to the attraction is strictly prohibited for pregnant women, children whose height has not reached 140 cm and people with disorders of the cardiovascular system.

Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, Mount Kilimanjaro

This water slide fully justifies its name (Kilimanjaro is the most high mountain Africa). Those who wish to ride from such a mountain are invited to overcome 50 meters in 5 seconds. Max Speed, which is achieved during the descent - about 90 km / h. The attraction staff keep their statistics, and claim that one in twenty visitors does not dare to overcome this path and descends back. Not everyone has the courage to dare such a risky act.

United States, Kansas City, Verruckt

The tallest waterslide in the world has recently opened in the US at the Schlitterbahn water park. The height of this attraction is almost 52 meters. She surpassed both Niagara Falls and the Statue of Liberty in height, although there are not so many desperate daredevils who are ready to descend from such a height.

A spiral climb, consisting of 264 steps, leads to the very top of the hill, where those who want to ride are seated in four-seater rubber rafts and tied tightly to them. On the first tests of this attraction, the engineers could not make sure that the sandbags (they were tested) did not come off the slide and did not rise into the air. For greater safety, the chute itself, along which the descent takes place, is fenced with a net. This is really necessary, because the speed with which the daredevil descends is approximately 120 km / h.

The world's tallest waterslide is currently closed. Unfortunately, a child recently died on this attraction. All the details of this incident are not yet fully known, but there are rumors that he flew out of the front seat and broke his neck on the top rail of the gutter. Official version not yet, but the mere fact that a 10-year-old was allowed to enter this attraction is already a matter of jurisdiction. The fact is that the entrance to this hill is allowed only from the age of 14.

Whether this water slide will open again or not is still unknown, but some hotheads of individual extreme sportsmen will cool this incident a little. After all, for a good rest it is not at all necessary to climb to such a height and risk your life.
