Rest in Feodosia. Personal experience: economical family vacation in Feodosia The best places to stay in feodosia

Feodosia is located in the southeastern part of Crimea and includes settlements Coastal, Primorsky, Koktebel, Kurortnoye, Shchebetovka, Ordzhonikidze. The city is a kind of boundary between mountainous and steppe Crimea. The purest sea water, many kilometers of sandy beaches (including a wild beach on Peschanaya Balka outside the village of Primorsky), pebble beaches of Feodosia, Koktebel, Ordzhonikidze - the choice is huge.

The history of Feodosia goes back centuries: it is one of the most ancient cities on Earth. Back in the 6th century BC, the Greeks founded the "God-given" (this is how the name of the city is translated into Russian). Until the 4th century AD. Hellenes lived in Feodosia until it was occupied by the Huns. Since then, Theodosius has been conquered by various tribes, states and empires, experiencing ups and downs. Alans, Romans, Genoese, Khazars, Tatars of the Golden Horde, Turks lived here at different times, leaving their mark on history and cultural heritage cities.

In modern Feodosia, architectural monuments of the Middle Ages have been preserved: various fortifications of the Genoese period (fortresses, towers, bridges, walls) of the 13th century, Christian churches of the 14th-15th centuries. As part of the Italian Genoa, Feodosia was renamed Kafu, and in 1475 the city was conquered by the Turks, turning it into major center slave trade. It was here that the captured Slavs were brought and sold in the markets of Kefe (that was the name of the city as part of the Ottoman Empire). The famous Roksolana was sold at one of these markets. Interesting historical fact: the captive girls, who had overcome the difficult journey of hundreds of kilometers, were put in order here, giving a "presentation", by local mineral waters and healing mud.

Climate and ecology of Feodosia

The climate of the city can be attributed to a certain average between the steppe and subtropical: here, unlike the South Coast, more low temperatures in winter. The average annual temperature is positive and is 12 degrees. Summers in Feodosia are hot and dry (especially from mid-July to late August), winters are mild. Snow, if it falls, is not for long, permanent snow cover occurs in severe winters (not every year).

It is noteworthy that the annual number of hours of sunshine in Feodosia is even greater than in Yalta.

A feature of the Feodosia region is openness strong winds from the north and east. And if in summer the winds help to endure the heat, then in winter, given the high humidity of the air, the feeling is not the most pleasant.

The swimming season in Feodosia begins in May and sometimes lasts until November. However, very often the wind from the shore drives warm water. In this case, you can observe a picture when in June the water temperature drops to 13-15 degrees. Saves the Sea of Azov, which is within easy reach of Feodosia.

From the potentially dangerous enterprises, from the point of view of the city's ecology, one can single out the Feodosiya oil depot located at the entrance to the city, as well as the Feodosiya marine Trading port located in close proximity to the city embankment.

However, the current level of these enterprises gives hope for minimizing possible emissions of pollution into the water area. But still, in the area of the tank farm in summer, you can clearly smell the smell of hydrogen sulfide. The rest of the enterprises, which had a significant impact on the city's ecology earlier, are currently not operating.

Population of Feodosia

The population of the city is about 70 thousand people, and of the entire Great Feodosia - about 105 thousand. Since the mid-90s of the last century, the population has been constantly decreasing due to natural decline.

According to the latest census (2001), 72.2% of Russians lived in Feodosia, 18.8% of Ukrainians, and 4.6% of Crimean Tatars. There are also Belarusians, Armenians, Jews, Moldovans, Greeks, Georgians, Poles, Azerbaijanis and Germans.

Feodosia is a city of pensioners, which is connected, first of all, with the desire of military personnel of pre-retirement age in Soviet times to transfer here and stay to live after retirement.

A large number of branches of all-Union research institutes favorably influenced the development of the city's intelligentsia. Lovely smiling old men and women are found everywhere here. However, the decline of the economy and morality, since the 90s, has had the most deplorable effect on young people. Here you can often find downtrodden drug addicts and petty thieves scurrying through the streets in search of easy money.

Young people receive education mainly in Ukrainian universities (Kharkov is the most popular, because the Feodosiya-Moscow train runs through this city all year round), in Simferopol, as well as in local higher educational institutions (polytechnic technical school, ship mechanical college, financial academy is the most popular among commercial universities).

Districts and real estate of Feodosia

In the city itself, several large districts can be distinguished: the center, Morsad, the Crimean massif, the Chelnokova street area, the Simferopol highway, Dynamo district, Garnaeva street area, Bus station, Starshinov boulevard area.

Theodosius. In the city park. Photo by Janny (http://fotki.yandex.ru/users/cola9/)

The closer the property is located to the sea and to the developed infrastructure of the city center, the more expensive its cost. The most prestigious apartments are mainly located in the city center and in the Dynamo district. Here the cost of 1 sq. m of housing will cost at least $ 1,000. However, most of the houses here belong to the "Khrushchev", i.e. small apartments. The number of new buildings in the central part of the city and coastal areas is small. The disadvantages of living in the city center include the fact that most of the yards in such houses are walkable with all the ensuing consequences: constant uninvited guests of a dubious appearance, garbage, etc.

More comfortable layouts are located in the Crimean massif and along Starshinov Boulevard. The infrastructure is quite developed, but the remoteness from the sea and the central part of the city make this housing a little less attractive. Here, the average cost of housing is $ 900.

In more remote areas from the center, you can find apartments cheaper.

The Shuttle massif is not very popular due to many factors: remoteness from the city center, proximity to the city dump, poorly developed infrastructure. Housing prices here are about $700 per square meter.

Beregovoe is a settlement with a predominance of private low-rise buildings (there are several high-rise buildings, but they look like some kind of savages, surrounded by private houses and boarding houses). The cost of housing in this case depends on the proximity land plot to the sea (on the first line, 1 weave can reach 15-20 thousand dollars) and the comfort of the house itself (here, as they say, there is no limit to perfection).

The undoubted advantage of Beregovoe is the proximity of the sea, clean air. The disadvantages include: the proximity of the Kerch-Simferopol highway, poor infrastructure, lack of central sewage.

Seaside

This workers' settlement, whose main enterprise is shipyard"More" has in its arsenal a fairly large multi-storey housing stock. An apartment here will cost an average of $800 per square meter. m. A more economical option can be purchased in the "Tower" area (a former closed military camp), here the cost of 1 square. m is about 600 dollars.

The proximity of the sea, good infrastructure makes this village quite attractive for summer holidays. However, in winter it is “boring” here: a very weak sports and entertainment base.

Seaside village. Photo by iris79 (http://fotki.yandex.ru/users/iris79/)

Many people love Koktebel, so real estate here is not cheap. Expensive houses and boarding houses are slowly replacing the old modest houses. There are also multi-storey new buildings offering 1 sq. m at a price of $ 850 (without finishing), and more expensive luxury apartments at prices up to $ 2,000 per square.

A very popular village, both for recreation and for living. The disadvantages include bad roads in its non-central part, problems with water, lack of central sewerage in private buildings.

Twitter

There are few multi-storey buildings here, they are not located very close to the sea. The cost of 1 sq. m will cost about 700-750 dollars.

The main problem of local residents of high-rise buildings is poor water supply.

Ordzhonikidze

You can become a resident of this quiet, cozy village by purchasing housing that costs from $1,000 per square meter. A cozy boathouse right on the seashore will cost more - from $ 1,400 per 1 sq.m.

Despite the very good location of the village (proximity to the city, beautiful mountain landscape, clean air), the problems here are the same as elsewhere: water shortages, poor social infrastructure.

Thus, the cost of housing in Feodosia is relatively high (despite the rather low income of the local population), which is naturally associated with the status of the city and its location: there are quite a lot of people who want to buy real estate in the resort town.

Infrastructure of the city of Feodosia

As for any city of Crimea, the issue of water supply is very relevant for Feodosia. And if for many modern cities of Ukraine, turning off water for half a day is a catastrophe of a national scale, then in Crimea, a planned, and often unplanned, lack of water for two or three days is a completely ordinary phenomenon, especially in summer.

Moreover, if in Feodosia itself water is supplied around the clock, then the suburbs are less fortunate: here water is supplied according to the schedule. For example, in Primorsky, this schedule in winter is as follows: 2 hours in the morning, 1 hour in the afternoon and 2 hours in the evening. In the summer, the lunch water supply is completely cut. Many residents have adapted to this inconvenience by installing storage tanks for water in apartments or on roofs. There is no hot water either in the city or in the suburbs, so people use electric boilers or gas water heaters.

The roads in Feodosia on the central streets of the city are quite tolerable, they are regularly repaired before the summer season. As for the less “lucky” outskirts of the city, everything is as usual here: no one “notices” potholes and pits.

There is a bus station in Feodosia: you can get to any Crimean city on fairly comfortable minibuses.

Traffic jams for Feodosia - a rarity However, in summer such a picture can often be observed at the entrance to the city: on the Kerch-Simferopol highway, when a large stream of railway tanks goes towards the oil depot.

The railway station is open all year round, but in summer there are much more trains, which is not very comfortable for the city embankment: the branch line runs 5-10 m from it. Built over 100 years ago by the famous artist Aivazovsky, it was clearly not designed for such traffic in a quiet coastal town of that time. Many vacationers note this fact as negative: few people like to lie on the beach under the noise of constantly arriving (leaving) trains.

There are 23 schools on the territory of Great Feodosia, 11 of which are in Feodosia itself. There are specialized schools with in-depth study of French, English, mathematics.

IN this moment There is an acute issue with pre-school institutions: kindergartens are overcrowded. This is primarily due to the fact that during the decline in the birth rate, starting from the end of the 90s, many gardens were closed and then sold to commercial establishments. Now the situation with the birth rate has improved, and there is nothing to build new gardens.

Businesses and work in Feodosia

The most "tasty" enterprises for potential applicants are the oil depot and the seaport. These two flagships are famous not only for the development of the city's economy, they are also among the hundred most profitable enterprises in Ukraine. Getting a job there is both prestigious and profitable: here the highest salaries and good social conditions. However, not everyone can get there, the city is small and specialists are found among friends and relatives.

At the very least, the once prosperous tobacco, hosiery, furniture and offset factories, factories: mechanical, state-owned optical, ship-mechanical, Stroydetal, a building materials plant, and the More plant are also functioning. However, work on them is intermittent, from order to order.

The most demanded (judging by the vacancies) work of sales representatives in the alcohol, tobacco and food sectors. The number of vacancies increases with the onset of the summer season, because. additional outlets open only in summer. The same applies to cooks, waiters, bartenders, sellers, maids, the demand for which is very high in summer. You have to work day and night, practically without days off. However, during the off-season, many have to "tighten their belts", because. finding a job is not easy.

With the onset of autumn, the construction of private mini-hotels is activated, which gives work to people with the appropriate qualifications.

Crime

Compared to the dashing nineties, modern Feodosia can be called a calm city from the point of view of criminals. Those who used to take money from merchants in the bazaar and in cafes put on business suits instead of leather jackets and went to power. Petty thieves and drug addicts remained on the street, spoiling the lives of themselves and people from “walker to walker”.

However, in the summer, with the influx of vacationers, the so-called "tourists" also come here. It was at this time that the number of thefts and murders increased.

The criminal history of Feodosia was added to another record in the summer of 2013, when the mayor of Feodosia Alexander Barteniev was shot at the entrance of his house. The killer was never found, the main version is a robbery. However, given the criminal past of the late mayor, as well as the style of doing business in the city, no one denied the possibility of contract killings. By the way, the murder of Bartenyev is the fifth in a series of murders of Crimean mayors in recent years.

In March 2013, a resonant accident occurred in Feodosia: at high speed, the driver of a “passenger car” (an SBU officer) rammed an ambulance that was rushing to the hospital with a serious patient. The accident killed a doctor and paramedic. The patient's father was badly injured. The SBU officer was found not guilty, the case was hushed up, and the killer, who, most likely, was simply drunk, was transferred to serve further in Simferopol.

In May 2008, Feodosia was stirred up by a high-profile incident: a 32-year-old driver, who had his license taken away and his car sent to a penalty area, set fire to the local traffic police department. During the extinguishing of the fire, 8 traffic cops were injured, including the head of the traffic police, who received serious burns. The driver himself died on the spot. Whether the traffic cop was right, who took the driver's license away, is hard to say. However, police arbitrariness in the city takes place.

Sights of Feodosia

Feodosia is rich in architectural monuments and natural beauties. With the advent railway in 1892, the elite of Tsarist Russia began to actively explore the city. Pushkin, Chekhov, Griboedov, Gorky, Mandelstam have been here. The entire first line by the sea was built up with dachas, the most famous of them and perfectly preserved to this day is the dacha of Stamboli.

The artist Aivazovsky lived and worked in Feodosia, an art gallery with his works is located opposite the central embankment of the city.

Another famous resident of Feodosia is Alexander Grin. The author spent the last 6 years of his life in this city. The house he settled in is now a museum.

A favorite place for tourists is the Genoese citadel, still preserved on the Quarantine Hill. This building, built back in the 13th century by the Italians and serving to protect and defend the city, was used during the Ottoman Empire for a 40-day quarantine of slaves. And in tsarist Russia Muslim pilgrims passing through Feodosia to Mecca were quarantined here.

Here in Quarantine is one of ancient churches- The Church of the Iberian Icon of the Mother of God, its construction dates back to the 14th century.

The fortification tower of the barbican and the tower of St. Constantine, built in the Ottoman period and perfectly preserved to this day, are of historical interest.

And of course, speaking of Feodosia, one cannot fail to mention such a pearl as Koktebel. This is a special corner of Crimea with its own history and unique charm. The grandeur of the beauty of this village fascinates even at the entrance to it, when the whole panorama opens up with stunningly beautiful mountains and bays. The modern summer Koktebel is strikingly different from the once bohemian village: a motley audience, crowds of people, noisy companies walking until the morning, a nudist beach very close to the main one, an embankment built up with countless tents, cafes, shops. But even such a "Shanghai" Koktebel does not scare away its many fans.

Koktebel. Photo by olgakrost7 (http://fotki.yandex.ru/users/olgakrost7/)

On the territory of Koktebel there is a biostation with a dolphinarium, the Karadag nature reserve, the famous Koktebel wine and cognac factory, a water park, and the Voloshin house-museum.

Well, the main calling card The village is without a doubt dormant volcano Karadag and the famous rock - the Golden Gate.

One of the warmest and sunny resorts Crimea is the district of Feodosiya. The sea here warms up already in early June, so the swimming season lasts longer than in other parts of the peninsula. Feodosia is located on a long sandy coast, which is why local beaches are considered the most convenient and comfortable for recreation.

By the number of historical sights, the city is not inferior to Sevastopol and iconic places south coast Crimea. There are many medieval temples here, ancient fortress Cafes and picturesque mansions XIX-XX centuries. Many places in Feodosia are associated with the name of the great artist I.K. Aivazovsky, who was born here, lived and created his incomparable seascapes.

  • Feodosia is, as it were, isolated from the rest Crimean resorts, there is no fuss and a huge number of tourists. This is very cozy city with unsurpassed beaches.

In total, along the coastline of Feodosia, there are more than 10 beaches with a width of 35 to 50 m. Their feature is that they were created not only by nature itself - pebbles were brought here, thanks to which the bottom of the sea became flatter, and the coastline itself was smoother. Further behind them, right up to the village of Primorsky, a 15-kilometer line of magnificent sandy beaches stretched, which, due to the yellowish tint of the sand, were called "Golden Beach".

Disco-117 beach is considered one of the most comfortable. It is a full-fledged entertainment complex under open sky with a cafe, a disco bar, a sports ground equipped with everything necessary for playing volleyball, ping-pong, billiards, etc., a huge number of all kinds of water attractions. And at night, open-air discos are held here. Disco-117 is adjacent to the "Golden Beach", you can get here by shuttle bus № 4.

The central city beach is "Pebbles", they got their name due to an artificial embankment of small pebbles polished by the sea. All conditions for a comfortable stay are created here - sun loungers and umbrellas are rented, there are showers and toilets, all kinds of attractions and small shops selling Crimean wines, fruits, sweets and fish.

Entrance to this beach is free, but you will need to pay for each service.

Immediately after the "Pebbles" follows the first urban or so-called " Children's beach". Sand prevails on it, but the bottom is flatter, and shallow water stretches for about 50 m into the sea, so here it warms up very quickly and practically does not storm, you can swim on this beach already in mid-May. Apart from natural conditions comfortable and interesting children's recreation contribute to the numerous water attractions.

Of the city beaches, the second city beach or the "Pearl" with a full complex is considered the widest. paid services and absolutely free entry. And right behind it is a beach with the tempting name "Bounty", in addition to a wide coastline and comfort, it boasts a beautiful view of Crimean mountains, which originate immediately beyond the Feodosia Gulf.

There are also so-called departmental beaches and beaches of various boarding houses in Feodosia, they are not crowded, but the entrance to them is limited.

Feodosia attracts not only with excellent beaches, but also with impressive sights. In addition, you can search among other hotels in the Crimea - in Yalta, Sudak or Alushta. Finally, the sunny

By plane

The nearest airport to Feodosia is the airport of the city, located 120 kilometers from Feodosia. First we fly to it, and from there we get to Feodosia as we please: by taxi or by public transport. A taxi will cost about 2000 rubles if you order it in advance, or more if you decide to go with local cabs. You can take public transport to Feodosia either at the Simferopol bus station or at the Kurortnaya bus station. From the stop near the airport by bus or trolleybus, you can get to the railway station, next to which the bus station "Kurortnaya" is located, or to the bus station, and then directly to Feodosia. Ticket prices in any case will be approximately the same: around 170 rubles.

And now directly about air tickets. From Moscow, an air ticket will cost from 3,000 rubles, and the flight will take 2 - 2.5 hours. You can fly from St. Petersburg to Simferopol for 4300 rubles and 3.5 hours. Direct flights from other major cities countries are rare, but possible: you can fly to Simferopol without transfers from Yekaterinburg (7800 rubles and 3.5 hours), Krasnodar (3800 rubles and 1.5 hours), from Rostov-on-Don (3800 rubles and 1.5 hours). You can monitor ticket prices.

By train

The easiest way to get to Crimea by train is to buy a ticket to Anapa, Novorossiysk or Krasnodar, and from there go either by bus or, in the case of coastal cities, by ferry to your destination. Train tickets from Moscow to cost from 1500 rubles, and the trip will take from 20 to 30 hours, from Moscow to Anapa - from 2000 rubles and 23 hours on the road, from Moscow to - from 1500 rubles and 23 hours on the road. From St. Petersburg to - from 2000 rubles and 31 hours on the road, to Anapa - from 3000 rubles and 39 hours on the road, to - from 2200 rubles and 46 hours on the road.

There is also a system of so-called “single tickets”, for example, in the direction “- Feodosia”, the cost of which immediately includes travel by train to Krasnodar, from Krasnodar to the port of Kavkaz by bus, then from the port of Kavkaz to the port of Crimea by ferry and then on the same bus to Feodosia. At the moment, the issuance of single tickets is temporarily suspended.

By bus

There are two bus stations in Feodosia: from one, located near the tourist center of the city, as a rule, flights go to other nearby cities of Crimea, and to the other, located somewhat to the north, they come long distance flights. Feodosia can be reached by bus from Krasnodar, Novorossiysk, Anapa, Gelendzhik and other cities. To get to Feodosia by bus from Moscow or St. Petersburg, you will need to change in one of these cities, preferably in Krasnodar, Anapa or Novorossiysk.

By car

To get to Feodosia by car, you must first get to the port of Kavkaz, then cross with the car by ferry to the port of Crimea, and then go directly to Feodosia along the E97 highway. Pretty simple. Ferry tickets for motorists, by the way, will cost from 1,200 rubles (depending on the size of the car) plus 162 rubles for each passenger.

Now a little about how to get to the port of Kavkaz by the shortest route. Wherever you go, you will need to go south along the M4 highway. Two ways appear here: the first and traditional one is to continue moving along the M4 towards Krasnodar, and from it turn towards the city of Temryuk onto the P251 highway, and from Temryuk continue along the same road towards the port of Kavkaz. The second method is not so popular, but on it you can save about 120 kilometers, 10 liters of gasoline and an hour and a half of time. To do this, you need to turn towards the village of Kanevskaya in the area of \u200b\u200bKushchevskaya village, from which you can drive along the P268 highway to Timashevsk. From Timashevsk we turn towards Slavyansk-on-Kuban, from Slavyansk-on-Kuban we go to Temryuk and then along the same road to the port.

By ferry

The ferry is today, one way or another, the most popular way to get to the Crimea, since almost all tourists use it, with the exception of those who decide to fly by plane. Ferries run from the port of Kavkaz to the port of Crimea every half an hour, so it will not be difficult to bypass the Kerch Strait here. As mentioned above, the ticket price for one person is 162 rubles. Yes, and be prepared for a thorough search when entering and leaving the port. It will be necessary to get from the port of Crimea to Feodosia by land: from the port we go to the Kerch bus station by minibus (the fare will be 10 rubles), and from the Kerch bus station to Feodosia we will take a regular bus for 160 rubles.

There is also an opportunity to get to Feodosia from Anapa by catamaran. The fare on the catamaran will be 1500 rubles for adults and 750 rubles for children.

When is the season. When is the best time to go

The climate in Feodosia is intermediate between steppe and subtropical, close to Mediterranean. Typical for hot southern cities. Summers are long and hot, winters are almost snowless and warm. Precipitation is highest in December, but also in summer period there is a chance of running into a rainy period. You can navigate the prices for tours to Feodosia.

Feodosia in summer

Summer is, for obvious reasons, the most popular time of the year for holidays in Feodosia, since the city is, first of all, a resort. In the summer in Feodosia, you will find hot southern weather with warm and pleasant evenings, salty sea and beaches, green vegetation decorating the streets, as well as trees that will delight you with all sorts of edible goodies growing on them. In fact, summer here begins in April and ends around mid-October. There are especially many tourists from July to September. Actually, this is the most favorable time for a holiday on the Black Sea coast, since in June the water in it is still cold.

Feodosia in autumn

Traditionally, it is customary to attribute the months from September to November inclusive to autumn. We will do the same when speaking about autumn in Feodosia. In September, as mentioned above, there are still a lot of people on the beaches and streets of the city. And no wonder: the water is still warm, the air is still warmed by the summer sun and nothing reminds of the approaching change of seasons. But in October, tourists begin to leave, and by November the embankments of Feodosia are almost completely free of tourists.

Feodosia in spring

Spring - good time to visit Feodosia for cultural and educational purposes. On the "God-given" land, a great many interesting and noteworthy sights are concentrated, which are definitely worth a look. Otherwise, tourist activity in the city in the spring is very weak.

Feodosia in winter

Districts. Where is the best place to live

Feodosiya has no official division into districts. There is, however, some informal system of dividing the city into 19 districts. It's pretty big number names, which will be very easy to get confused. Therefore, we will go the other way and we ourselves will conditionally divide Feodosia into four districts: the southern part (purple), the central part (red), Northern part(green) and outskirts (blue).

The price of hotels in Feodosia, as in most coastal cities, is more affected by distance from the coast, so the farther from the sea, the cheaper, as a rule, but there are exceptions. Also, in addition to the usual hotels with standard service, in Feodosia, the owners rent out rooms in almost every private house. Already at the station, you are likely to be met by such feudal landowners and offered to rent “housing, inexpensive!” And here you can find both unspeakably cheap offers and unreasonably expensive ones. In a word, if you decide to rent a room by directly agreeing with the owner, then here we have only one piece of advice for you: be vigilant, prudent and attentive. You can choose private apartments in advance. Well, for comparison, below we provide a list of accommodation options in various parts of the city.

What are the prices for holidays

Prices for a standard tour of the main attractions of Feodosia start at 500 rubles. The offer on the market of excursion services here often outstrips demand: on the streets of the city you will see many tables with counters, behind which guides stand day and night and wait for customers. Speaking of this, we recommend that you give preference to accredited guides, which will be evidenced by the appropriate certifying badge in Ukrainian or, possibly, in Russian. In Feodosia, among other things, you can also order a horse ride, the cost of which starts from 700 rubles, as well as excursions to other settlements and places of Crimea.

Main attractions. What to see

In Feodosia, you can not only relax your body, but also enrich yourself spiritually by visiting local attractions.

Top 5

Genoese fortress

One of the most popular and famous monuments Feodosia. It is the remains, in fact, of the fortress, erected in the Middle Ages.

Saint Constantine's Tower

One of the monuments of medieval architecture, which is part of the Genoese fortress. Its distinctive feature is that it has survived to this day in its original form.

Cape St. Elijah

Fountain of Aivazovsky

A small building with interesting story. In 1887, the Feodosians experienced an acute shortage of fresh water. I.K. Aivazovsky, a famous Feodosian, decided to donate the source of drinking water that belonged to his estate to the city, for which the townspeople were immensely grateful to the artist.

Fountain "To the Good Genius"

To this day, the Feodosians keep a grateful memory of their outstanding fellow countryman. In 2004, a fountain-monument to the "Good Genius" was opened, which is a bronze female figure, in whose hands is a bowl from which water flows.

Beaches. Which is better

The beaches of Feodosia stretch along its entire sea coast. Some even merge into each other and seem like one big beach without a name, but this is obviously a delusion. Below we will talk about the most pleasant beaches cities.

golden beach

The beach is located between Feodosia and the village of Berehove, along the highway M17 "Simferopol-". It is famous for its golden sands, consisting of worn shells. The beach is equipped with all the necessary beach infrastructure: there are changing cabins, toilets, umbrellas, sun loungers. Here you can always buy various kinds of flour products, and not only from local merchants, but also have a bite to eat in the nearest cafe, of which there are quite a lot on the coast. The bottom here is smooth, gentle, so the beach is perfect for families with children, who, however, will need to be monitored, since there are no buoys on the beach. Also on Golden Beach, you can easily find a quiet, secluded place if you prefer to stay away from large crowds of vacationers. In a word, the Golden Beach is rightfully considered the best place in Feodosia for a quiet, measured rest on the seashore.

Central beach "Kameshki"

And this beach is more likely for lovers of the noisy resort atmosphere of the South of Russia. The central beach, or "Kameshki", is considered the most popular among both the Feodosians themselves and tourists, since it is located in the very center of the city, next to the Feodosiya embankment, so you can hardly walk past it while walking around the city. The beach is equipped with everything necessary for a beach holiday, and moreover, it is replete with various kinds of services and entertainment, such as riding bananas, tablets, batmen and other rubber things, renting jet skis and even massages. Here you do not have to look for where to eat: the snack will find you. The beach has an abundance of cafes, kiosks and retail outlets where you can buy everything from food to souvenirs. The disadvantages of the beach include a high probability of leaving too much money here, succumbing to the abundance of all kinds of temptations. The beach is pebbly.

First city beach

Located next to Central beach and in the range of services provided is no different from it. Perhaps the only difference between the First City Beach and the "Kamushki" is that it is sandy and consists of shells worn out for centuries, so those who do not love pebble beaches will find the First City Beach more pleasant than its neighbor.

Closed beach of the sanatorium of the Ministry of Defense

Near the First City is the beach of the sanatorium of the Ministry of Defense, which is free only for the guests of the sanatorium. Entrance will cost about 200 rubles. The beach is sandy and generally quite nice, and the fact that it is paid can please people who want to get as far away from the main mass of vacationers as possible.

Beach "Cote d'Azur"

A narrow sandy beach stretching along the coast for a very short distance. However, there are always a lot of people here. The beach has everything you need for a beach holiday, a lifeguard and a doctor are on duty.

Ai-Petri beach or Suvorin stones

Further along the coast, next to the Cote d'Azur beach, is the Ai-Petri beach, popularly known as the Suvorin stones. The beach is rather narrow, the bottom is pebbly, the range of services is approximately the same as on the previous beaches, but unlike them, Ai-Petri is still less picturesque and aesthetically beautiful.

Dynamo beach

The beach is located right behind the youth sanatorium of the same name. In general, it does not differ from the above: there is all the infrastructure, entertainment, catering establishments, toilets and more. Discomfort is delivered only by concrete slabs sticking out from under the sand in some places. The beach, by the way, is open from 5 am to 11 pm. But it is worth noting that if you are an adventurer with a sixty-liter backpack on your shoulders, and you find yourself in Feodosia at night and need to put up a tent somewhere, then you can not be afraid to go to the Dynamo beach. The local responsive security guards will easily let you settle down on the beach for the night, and the police patrolling it will tell you a lot interesting facts from the history of the city.

Beach "Pearl"

Located behind the Dynamo beach, the Zhemchuzhny beach in its picturesqueness may well compete with the Golden Beach: the same bright sand, the same atmosphere of serenity. The beach is equipped with everything you need, there are plenty of shelters from the sun.

Bounty Beach

The logical continuation of the "Pearl" beach. It has a full range of various entertainment services, as well as all the necessary infrastructure. In general, a rather ordinary sandy beach, which does not differ from others in anything, except for the proximity of the location, if you settled somewhere in the area of \u200b\u200bthe bus and railway station.

Scarlet Sails Beach

As you approach the outskirts of the city, less and less crowded and more and more interesting and picturesque beaches. One of them is "Scarlet Sails". A wide sandy beach stretching along the Kerch highway. It has all the infrastructure that we have talked about more than once above. The beach is interesting, first of all, for the purity of the water, as well as the abundance of various underwater inhabitants: crabs, sea urchins, rapanov and others. It is definitely worth coming here with a mask and snorkel to dive to the depths and look at the marine inhabitants or even hunt them (without harm to nature and solely for the purpose of broadening one's horizons, of course).

Beach "Club 117"

And finally, the beach, located between the Golden and Scarlet Sails. Club 117 in the afternoon is a regular cozy beach for measured lying in the sun and swimming in salt water. It becomes interesting at night, when a lot of party-goers, both locals and visitors, flock here. A whole night of dancing to the music of temperamental DJs, rivers of spirits and, of course, soft drinks will be waiting for you on the beach "Club 117" after 20:00.

Churches and temples. Which are worth a visit

Church of St. Catherine

Founded at the end of the century before last, the Church of St. Catherine in Feodosia is an example of Russian architecture. An impressive complex with its size and beauty, which is definitely worth a visit for Orthodox tourists.

Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God

Built at the beginning of the 20th century and made in the Russian-Byzantine style. Also very curious beautiful place, which is worth a visit for both devout and not so people.

Church of St. Sarkis or Church of St. Sergius

Mufti Jami Mosque

The mosque was built in 1630 and is the only surviving religious Muslim building in the city.

What to see in the surroundings

Speaking about Crimea, and especially about its coast, one cannot single out any one place and say that it is better than the others: each city, village or town is beautiful in its own way. Therefore, if you ask us: "What to see in the vicinity of Feodosia?" - We will not hesitate to answer - the whole of Crimea.

But if we talk about the Feodosia region of Crimea, then here you can go to the villages of Beregovoye and Primorsky with not crowded and clean sandy beaches. You can also recommend the village in the west with its famous monastery Surb Khach. Well, in the south are the famous villages of Ordzhonikidze and, next to which, in turn, is the remarkable Karadag Reserve. Not far from Ordzhonikidze, we recommend visiting another exceptional place - Fox Bay. Fox Bay is a kind of haven for all sorts of modern hippies, homeless people and other "Dharma vagabonds". She looks like a big tent city in a secluded place between two capes, next to which there is a nudist beach. We recommend coming to Fox Bay for the night with a tent. And don't forget to bring as much firewood and water as possible.

Food. What to try

Multinational Crimean peninsula absorbed many culinary traditions from different nations and ethnic groups. It is worth noting separately traditional cuisine Crimean Tatars, which can be found in the corresponding national cafes and restaurants, which also exist in Feodosia. Ukrainian and Russian cuisines are also widespread.

Of course, the Crimean chebureks, which differ from the usual chebureks in an impressively generous size, should be singled out separately. In Feodosia, you can try them in the Food Bistro chain of catering restaurants. Also in the markets and shops of Feodosia, you can buy a sweet, popular in the Crimea - baklava. And of course, there are many places in Feodosia where a tourist can taste the famous Crimean wines.

Back in September, Feodosia hosts the Winefeofest wine festival, where the leading wine producers in Crimea not only present their products to the public, but festival guests have the opportunity to taste various brands of wine. Among other things, Winefeofest traditionally hosts grandiose shows, fireworks and other fun things.

In addition to horses, there is also an exhibition of other animals at the festival. Shows with acrobatic stunts on horseback are held.

Things to do

In addition to standard marine entertainment, such as water rides, excursions and other tourist pleasures, there are other things to do in Feodosia. For example, watch a movie in one of the three cinemas in Feodosia: "Crimea", "Ukraine" or "Pioneer". Listen to music of various directions from local and visiting performers in the summer concert hall"Star". Go to a performance at the House of Officers Black Sea Fleet or Feodosia City House of Culture. In a word, many different activities can be found, some of which we will discuss in more detail below.

Shopping and shops

There are four large shopping centers in Feodosia: Aquamarine, Yuzhny, Passage and As-El. But the focus of shopping here, as in most other resort towns, is by no means shopping centers and malls, but the good old markets and rows of shops. The Crimean and Central markets are especially popular with tourists and residents of the city, and if we talk about shopping arcades, their greatest concentration is observed in close proximity to the coast, and in particular, in the area of the paratroopers embankment.

Bars. Where to go

Most of the bars in Feodosia are located outdoors, and traditional indoor or basement bars are not very popular with tourists. Look for open-air bars in the vicinity of city beaches, and we will name a few traditional bars below:

Top 5 Feodosia bars:

  • "Rooms", - Lounge bar;
  • "Pivlyandiya" - pub;
  • "Greenwich" - casino bar;
  • "Lydia", - bar;
  • "East-South" - disco bar.

Clubs and nightlife

Party-goers make noise on the coasts of Feodosia on summer nights. The open-air clubs are the most popular here, and only a few remain indoors on a warm summer evening. Night discos are mostly spontaneous, but there are also traditional places for spending night time. Such phenomena as face control, dress code are quite rare here.

Top 5 Feodosia clubs:

  • "Arcadia" - night club;
  • «CROCODILE», - night club;
  • "Water World" - night club;
  • "Papa Billy" - a nightclub;
  • "Africa", - night club;

extreme sports

In Feodosia, you can find a pretty decent amount of extreme entertainment, in addition to the obvious "bananas", "pills" and towed parachutes: horse riding, quad biking, jeeping, rope jumping, hot air ballooning, diving, paragliding and much more. You can find them, as they say, right on the street, with guides who trade their services. We have only one piece of advice for you: be careful with extreme entertainment and order services only from trusted and certified specialists.

Souvenirs. What to bring as a gift

Public transport in Feodosia, and in general throughout Crimea, is mostly represented by cute yellow buses, outlandish for the rest of Russia. On such minibuses you can ride both inside the city and get to nearby villages. Buses run from the Feodosia bus station to Ordzhonikidze, and other more remote settlements. The fare in a minibus inside the city is only 10 rubles, and travel to neighboring villages can cost from 11 to 18 rubles, depending on the distance.

Transport rental

In Feodosia, you can rent a car for a period of two days and subject to the availability of all required documents: passports and driving license. Also, when renting a car, you will have to leave a deposit, the amount of which will depend on the class of the car. The cost of rent per day starts from 1200 rubles. There are many companies providing such services, so we advise you to be careful and use the services of reliable and trusted organizations. You can rent a car in advance.

Feodosia - holidays with children

If you came to Feodosia with children, then you don’t have to think about how to entertain them: the sellers of excursions on the streets themselves will offer you a lot of fun for your children. With children, for example, you can go for a ride on horses, ATVs or a jeep (of course, if the kids are not quite small). You can visit various kinds of excursions with your children, the assortment of which will be gladly introduced to you on the spot. You can give them a ride on the "banana" or ride with them on a pleasure boat along the coast. You can take them to the Luna Park to ride various attractions or take them to the dolphinarium. Or you can go outside of Feodosia and go to the new famous Koktebel water park or to the Taigan safari park. In a word, local employees of the tourism industry will definitely not let your children leave Feodosia indifferent from “God-given”.
