    In 1982, Kittila Airport was opened, and the following year, Levin Hissit Oy built an 800-meter summer toboggan run, which attracted a huge number of tourists.

    In 1989, Levi Travel Ltd was established to improve the efficiency of the tourism business. Her competence also included the accommodation of tourists and booking accommodation.

    In the 1992-1993 season. Levi was selected as the best ski resort in Finland for the 1st time.

    In the period from November 29 to December 2, 2000, the European Slalom Championship was held in Levi. Due to the successful organization of the competition, Levy was named the only reserve site during the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Aspen, and thus, in the autumn of 2001, became a permanent place in the FIS calendar. This meant that Levy was recognized as an equal among the more ordinary organizers of global championships.

    In the 2001-2002 season. the competition center at the foot of the gondola lift was completed. Investments in the construction of the complex included the construction of a ski lift and artificial snow slope, which will host world championships, with the maintenance and lighting needed to show the skiing competitions on television. This season Levi has become the largest ski center in Finland.

    The height of Mount Levi is 531 meters above sea level. Levi has 48 ski slopes, of which 15 are illuminated, and 26 lifts. Levi is one of 2 ski resorts in Finland with a gondola lift.

    Most of the ski slopes are suitable for youngsters, but there are 4 more black slopes for experts. Greater elevation difference - 325 meters. The most endless descent is 2500 meters. The most endless lift - 1636 meters. Levi has one superpipe, one halfpipe, one snow park, 10 children's slopes and 7 restaurants located on the slopes.

    The ski season in Levi lasts approximately from mid-October to early June (until the end of April - guaranteed).

    Other outdoor activities in Levi include cross-country skiing, snowmobile safaris, cycling, reindeer and dog sledding safaris, fishing, hiking, rowing, etc. The total length of cross-country skiing trails reaches 230 km; for snowmobiles - 850 km. You can also take a walk on snowshoes or snowmobiles to the nearest Mount Katka (Fin. Katkatunturi), located to the west of Mount Levi.

    In 2009, the construction of a full-size golf course was completed, located at the northern foot of Levi Mountain. During the summer, when the sun doesn't set, Levi Golf is open all day.

    To accommodate guests in Levi, there are 6 hotels, 2 apart-hotels and hundreds of cottages. The total number of beds in the resort in 2009 was 20,000. Kittilä Airport, serving visitors to Levi, is the 2nd largest airport in Finland after Helsinki. Levi has a congress center, 3 supermarkets, a pharmacy and 10 more shops, boutiques, restaurants and eateries. In September 2010, the largest water park in Lapland with 17 pools was opened at the Levitunturi Hotel.

    Levi has been chosen 4 times as the best ski resort in Finland.

    A snow village is built every winter in Lainio, 40 km from Levi. Here you can spend the night in a snow hotel, visit a cool domed hall with a bar, look at cool sculptures, or even perform a marriage ceremony.
