The best beach in Sharm El Sheikh. The best beaches in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt

Sharm el-Sheikh attracts, first of all, ardent fans of diving and snorkeling, because it is here that you can appreciate the fabulous beauty of the Red Sea.

Coral reefs, underwater flora and fauna in this part of the Red Sea often begin almost at the edge of the beach. But what about those who prefer to get to the sea not using a pier or pontoon, but along the sand? Or those who brought their child, who is still too small to swim along the coral reef, to bask in the sun and splash in the sea?

A significant part of Sharm el-Sheikh hotels, in addition to pontoons of various lengths (from 30 to 300 meters), have at least small lagoons, which are convenient for children to splash around, but for adults, being in knee-deep water, and even stagnant water, is not at all interesting. That is why hotels in Egypt with a sandy entrance to the sea are in high demand.

Almost all hotels built before 2007 have the possibility of comfortable entry into the sea.
This is due to the fact that hotel owners did something simple - they cut an entrance to the sea, destroying coral reefs.

The vast majority of hotels in Sharm el-Sheikh are located in Naama Bay ( Naama Bay), Sharm el Maya, Ras Um Sid, Sharks Bay and in the Nabq Bay area.

The Nabq Bay area can be immediately excluded from the list of hotels with sandy entry into the sea - the construction of hotels here began mainly after 2007, there are very few natural sandy beaches, there are only small artificial lagoons. The coastline in this area is elongated, and as a result there are frequent winds. The sea in the Nabq Bay area is shallow, the pontoons can reach 300 meters, the coral reefs are well preserved, so those who come for the beauty of the Red Sea will be comfortable here. Lovers of comfortable sandy beaches should pay attention to other areas of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Beach holiday

Sharm el-Sheikh has a huge number of beaches. All of them are divided into three types:

  • coral;
  • conditionally sandy, or coral-sandy;
  • sandy.

Most of the coastal area of the resort is filled with corals: their colonies are protected by law. There are pontoons built everywhere here, with the help of which you can reach water with a clean bottom, avoiding areas dangerous for your feet.

In some areas of Sharm el-Sheikh, the beaches are coral-sand: some areas were artificially cleared, marking them with buoys. In other places, to avoid damaging your feet, you will have to swim in slippers.

The only ones completely sandy beaches are located in Sharm El Maya. The entire coastal area here is divided between 26 hotels, which take care of the improvement of their areas. You will have to walk quite a distance to reach a comfortable depth of water, so some beaches are also equipped with pontoons for admiring the marine nature.

For adults

The choice of a beach for a holiday without children depends on the preferences of the tourist. The most popular beaches have the following features:

  1. Hadaba, Sharks Bay and Nabq are completely surrounded by a line of corals. Access to the swimming areas is via pontoon bridges.
  2. Some areas of Naama Bay are sandy, others are coral. You need to navigate by the buoys.
  3. The beaches of Sharks Bay are distinguished by deep water: immediately after the coral area, great depth begins. Suitable for those who like to dive and contemplate wonders underwater world.
  4. There is no natural shallow water in Ras Umm el-Sid: some areas are filled up artificially. Beach area narrow. Tourists relax on the terraces above the sand, going down the steps to the water.

Be sure to wear slippers when going into the water, even if you think there is not enough coral.

The majority of Egypt's population is Muslim, so women are not recommended to sunbathe topless on the beaches for their own safety. There are no areas for nudists in Sharm el-Sheikh.

Family friendly

Hotel complexes are more suitable for families with children than natural beaches. Because of the corals that grow several tens of meters along the coast, it is not always comfortable and safe for children to swim in the sea. Among the beaches best suited for family holidays are:

Sharm El Sheikh is the “royal resort”, the most respectable and prestigious in Egypt, favored by Europeans, Italians, Germans and, more recently, Russians. The resort is located in the southern part of the coast of Mount Sinai, stretching for tens of kilometers, and includes several bays: Naama Bay, Shark Bay, Sharm El Maya. 67 international and local hotels high level, among which international ones lead in terms of service.

And most of the beaches on the coast are privately owned by hotels. All Sharm El Sheikh beaches can be divided into 2 types: coral and sand. Most of the resort's beaches are coral and are located in a protected area. Therefore, it is forbidden here, on pain of a large fine, to collect corals, much less export them abroad, and special pontoons have been built for swimmers, along which you can get to the swimming place, bypassing the coastal corals. A strip of coral reefs allows you not only to get carried away with diving, the centers of which there are countless centers here, in one of best places for snorkeling, but also just to snorkel and snorkel, observing the intricate pattern of reefs and schools of coral fish. The reefs break off far from the shore, which still needs to be taken into account if you are unable to swim. All resort hotels rent rubber beach flip-flops, which are essential for walking on the coral beaches. Or you can buy them in Naama Bay.

The only one in Sharm El Sheikh sandy beach, in the full sense of the word, is located in the central, most important part of the resort - in Naama Bay, where almost half of all hotels are located. Here the seabed has long been cleared of corals, so here perfect place for families with children: very clear emerald water, flat, flat bottom, shallow sea sand. At the resort, not far from Naama Bay, there is a small city free beach.

If the hotel is located further than the first line from the sea, then there is a shuttle to the beach - and this is always convenient. Behind last years More and more Russian-speaking staff and animators appear in resort hotels, Russian television “pi-ti=pi” (RTR) is connected.

The nightlife of Sharm El Sheikh is quite vibrant. Naama Bay has a large number of discos, the most famous of which is Crazy Daisy, owned by the Hilton Fayrouz hotel, two casinos and a bowling club. The southernmost part of the resort, Ras Um Sid, boasts famous five-star all-inclusive hotels: Iberotel Grand Sharm, Hilton Waterfalls, Dreams Beach, Ritz Cariton. The theme park “A Thousand and One Night” will soon open here. For lovers of excursions, it offers trips to Dahab, a modern affordable resort, as well as to a multi-colored canyon not far from Nuweiba, climbing Mount Sinai with a tour of its Christian shrines, as well as bus tour to the capital with a visit to the Pyramids, National Museum and the bazaar of Khan el Khalidi bazaar.

The beaches in Sharm El Sheikh itself are chosen primarily by diving enthusiasts. Experienced instructors, equipment and sea trips in safe places diving attracts lovers of extreme and fashionable entertainment from all over the world. Particularly noteworthy is the national marine park Ras Mohamed, located southwest of Sharm El Sheikh 25 km. The diversity of local marine flora and fauna is amazing and awe-inspiring, especially when observed while snorkeling. Although sandy beaches and Sharm El Sheikh- this is a rare combination, it is worth spending a holiday at the resort, using all its possibilities: varied, fun and impressive, with maximum comfort and richness of one of the best sea resorts Egypt.

The beaches of Sharm el-Sheikh, unlike the beaches of Hurghada, are located on rocky shores; there is less sand here, but there are more corals, fish, stingrays and other marine life.

The main difficulty when choosing a beach in a hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh is that on many of them, entry into the water is carried out exclusively from a pontoon, which can be difficult when traveling with children or if you are a poor swimmer. Moreover, a pontoon does not guarantee a good reef for swimming.

Another important problem is windy weather in winter: some beaches are not protected from the wind and swimming on them may be prohibited due to the danger of hitting the reef. IN this review we selected, in our opinion, the best beaches in hotels in Sharm el-Sheikh: first of all, we looked at the possibility of access both from the pier and from the shore, assessed the quality of the reef and the number of sun loungers.

The Renaissance Hotel is located in the Hadaba area and has one of the most beautiful reefs on the coast. The beach itself is located in cascades, which is why in the video at first glance it may seem that there are few sunbeds here. In fact, the majority are evenly distributed across different tiers and there should be enough space for everyone. Walking up and down the steps can be tiring for some, but the beach itself is worth it. The main descent into the sea is carried out from the pontoon directly to the corals. The pontoon itself is not very long. For insecure swimmers, there is a small descent into the water, where an adult will be waist-deep.

El Fanar public beach is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Entrance there is paid, but they say that the reef there is even more beautiful and there is a larger area for swimming.

In the old days the beach Hotel Dessole could without a doubt be called the best and not even talk about other beaches. However, over the years the situation has changed, the corals are becoming poorer, there is less space on the beach, but for now the beach of this hotel is still worthy of being in the ranking of the best beaches in Sharm el-Sheikh. For the convenience of guests, there are as many as two pontoons; moreover, there is a place to enter the water from the shore, but many tourists complained that it was closed. The coral here is alive and beautiful, there are enough sun loungers for all tourists, since the hotel beach is quite elongated.

The Hilton Hotel is located in the center of the Naama Bay resort. In general, it is known that the bay itself has long been thoroughly cleared of corals, which is why the hotel beaches there are significantly inferior to their competitors, but in Hilton, not far from the pontoon, several coral islands have been preserved. Moreover, there are even fish there, judging by the photographs of tourists. The hotel's beach itself is sandy with a comfortable, gently sloping entrance to the water, which is especially good for families with children and for insecure swimmers.

The hotel belongs to the international hotel chain Hilton, so here you can hope that the famous Egyptian service will be a little better and closer to international standards.

This hotel has already been included in our other rating, the best beaches for snorkeling in Sharm el-Sheikh, but it is also worthy of the rating of the best beaches in the resort. The fact is that it has one of the best reefs on the coast, which is clearly visible from the ships in the background. Moreover, you can enter the sea directly from the shore; therefore, lovers of fish and stingrays then swim to the depths, while those who like to splash around in shallow water calmly remain near the shore. The hotel itself is located on a hill that protects the beach from the wind.

Here, belonging to an international hotel chain did not help the hotel: the quality of food leaves much to be desired, the animation is sluggish, and the rooms are also outdated.

The beach of this hotel is ideal for relaxing in winter: it is closed on all sides by steep cliffs and reliably protected from winter winds. At the same time, the pontoon is stable and located shallow, so everyone can swim from it (sometimes, however, too many people gather there), and the coral reef is alive and beautiful. In addition to the main thing, the hotel has a small " wild beach", which can be reached via specially equipped steps. Walking to the hotel beach can be difficult in the heat; there are really a lot of steps, but fans of all-inclusive will benefit from warming up a little.

Tourists can also use the bars and restaurants of the neighboring Dreams Vacation hotel, which will proportionally increase the number of services offered to you.
