We had half board, in vain, it is better to dine in the city. At dinner in the restaurant SEATED: i.e. you enter, there is a "manager" who asks how many of us and points to a table. I didn’t want to sit on the aisle, but I had to, it was uncomfortable. There was no wifi in the room, we sat downstairs. We were not alone :o)) There are scales for luggage (1 or 2 euros for one weighing).

We chose the hotel because of the proximity to the sea - a mistake, the sea is cold (end of August!), not transparent, a lot of algae, the beach is unkempt, sunbeds, umbrellas are old. They cost like everywhere else - 2.5 euros per unit, together 7.5 euros per day. There is an excellent path along the sea in both directions, it goes very far, you can ride a bicycle along it, but in Aloe bicycles are expensive and without locks, so it’s better to take them in the city.

The hotel has excellent pools, good sunbeds (although they had to be borrowed early), cleaning, friendliness of the staff - everything is fine. There is a free ironing board, a small fitness room, paid sauna. The air conditioner in the room worked great.

Waiters strained, persistently inviting to evening events (Cypriot evening, magicians, etc.). I understand they are obligated, but I didn't like it. Hanging in the elevator poster and that's enough. The anti-feminine uniform of the waitresses also surprised me.

There were a lot of elderly overweight people in the hotel.

There are no maps of the surroundings in the hotel, but there are many places in the city where you can take. Information on transport, buses and timetables is also not available. Those. hotel - as if closed on itself.

Around: bus 1.5 euro trip. Day pass 5 euros throughout the Paphos area. Tickets are sold by the driver upon boarding. On bus station"Karavel" Russian-speaking workers advise, give a schedule in Russian. For 5 euros you can get to Aphrodite's bath (on Akamas) with transfers, to Polis, to Aphrodite's rock (without transfers for 1.5 euros, 40 minutes), to Coral Bay (it's better to go there, and don't go to the nearest beach at all). At the port medieval fort stage, where in the first days of September opera performances, sometimes concerts.

Movies are sometimes shown on the beach in the evening. sunbeds are unfolded on the house, where shower-toilets install a huge screen.

Excursions, with a hotel guide, of course, are the most expensive, there are plenty of places nearby with the same offers at a more friendly price. Walking around the city, we came across very pleasant prices, such as 19 euros for a trip to Kykkos with stops somewhere else. On the beach and at the hotel you can find a driver with a car, Nikolai, who once moved from Georgia, with good Russian, he takes four people in a car, drives around the island, it was 140 euros (35 per person).

All rooms at Aloe Hotel are air conditioned and have a minibar and satellite TV. Connecting rooms are suitable for families. Balconies offer views of the pool and grounds or the sea.

A beautiful hotel with green area and swimming pools. Good service and food. Convenient location. There are two good "sandy" beaches near the hotel. Not far from the Tourist Center in Lower Paphos and the bus station.

Cons of the hotel

Views from some rooms are spoiled by a large new hotel construction near the sea, and some rooms overlook a large "mowed, yellow" field (in August).

Hotel Story

Rest in Aloe Hotel 4*, Paphos, Cyprus

1. We rested together at the Aloe 4 * hotel from 07/31 to 08/10/2017. The tour to Cyprus was issued 10 days before departure to Larnaca airport. The hotel was chosen from the Biblio Globus list of proposals remaining for this period. The criteria for choosing a place of rest and a hotel were as follows.

Choice of Cyprus: direct flight, quick free visa, quick tour, ancient old country with beautiful "legends" and "remains of ancient palaces", warm sea in the spring-summer-autumn months. Disadvantages for relaxing in August: already in May the temperature is 30-35 degrees, the grass burns out, the slopes of the hills are “yellow”, and the “coast” is no longer so “green”. Paphos Choice: beautiful city on the seashore, there is a port, a fortress in the port, an embankment and a long promenade along the sea; a lot of interesting things in the city itself (archaeological park, caves of "various saints"; there are beautiful streets and buildings; there is a water park, museums). Disadvantages: within the city limits on the eastern side there are only two sandy beaches (near the Aloe 4 * hotel) and closer to the center there is also a “beach-embankment” with a descent into the sea along ladders (besides this, on the eastern side there are another 3-4 “micro - bays). On the western side, in the city, they also bathe in several "small coves". Choice of Aloe 4 * hotel: a beautiful hotel located across the road from two good sandy beaches; beautiful (according to read reviews) green area with swimming pools; less than 1 km to the embankment (tourist center) and bus station, convenient location on one of the central streets of lower Paphos (Poseidon Avenue), where there are many shops and restaurants; mostly good feedback about the hotel. Disadvantages (according to reviews): a new hotel is being built in front of the hotel on the seashore, next to the Aloe 4 * hotel, and on the east side in August there is a gray-yellow field, where in spring or early summer “something turned green” (this spoils beautiful views From the hotel).

2. Flights and settlement. We flew out of Omsk almost exactly on schedule, after 5.5 hours we were at Larnaca airport, and after about 1.5 hours we were already at our hotel (at about 11.15 local time). We left our things, walked the streets, looked at the excursion offers of local travel companies , and at about 13.15 we checked into room 212 on the second floor of the east wing of the hotel. In the room, everything tripled us: normal plumbing (however, the shower head built into the wall looked somewhat unusual), wardrobes, a table and cabinets with numerous “drawers”, a table, a refrigerator, a safe (they had to be paid extra), beds, a TV with flat screen, a balcony with chairs and a side view of the sea from it (the construction “did not get into the review”, but it’s a pity that the large field was not green). In general, everything looked decent in the hotel and in the room, despite the relatively old age of the hotel. There were no complaints about the cleaning of the room (in the future). They cleaned the room well, changed towels and bed linen, added shampoos and gel. WF in the room worked fine, but unfortunately after a few days the iPad “frozen” and the Internet was no longer needed. 3. Territory of the hotel, food at the hotel. The hotel consists of a central and two side buildings. From some sides of the hotel buildings there is a direct view of the sea (now it is also a view of a large construction site), from some - a side view of the sea, and from some - a view of the internal territory of the hotel (pools, trees, lawns, cafes - bar). In front of the hotel there is a beautiful green area for the arrival of buses, behind, on the western side, there is a car park. On the ground floor there is a large hall, reception, shop, restaurant, cafe, cafe-bar. The hotel has modern elevators. The interior of the hotel is beautiful. There are many palm trees, other trees and shrubs, two large pools (deep and shallow), a beautiful bridge, a lot of umbrellas and sunbeds, there are showers and changing rooms. Beach towels are issued from 9.00 to 17.00. Lots of cleaning staff. From the territory of the hotel, if necessary, you can exit through the gate in the fence and then go through the parking lot to the lane to the nearest small supermarket (water, wine, food, various things and toys are sold). At night the gate is closed. It is convenient that from the "side" buildings you can also go down not only by elevator, but also by stairs. For example, from our building going down one staircase you get to the pools, and through the second - to the hotel in front of the main entrance. True, it was not clear whether the doors from the floors “to the stairs” are closed at night, and on these stairs, in principle, strangers can walk into the hotel from the street. In our tour, breakfast + dinner was paid for. In general, if you do not find fault with trifles, I liked the food. Basically everything was delicious. In the morning in a large hotel cafe offered: juices, coffee, tea, porridge, various cuts, various omelettes, sausages, muesli, buns, fruits, sliced watermelons. In the evening, the restaurant had: soup, several options for "second" courses and side dishes, various salads, "fish dishes" olives, sauces, "cakes and ice cream", vegetables and fruits. Various drinks at dinner were for an additional charge. At dinner, it was necessary to observe fragments of the "dress code" - not to come in a T-shirt. Shorts were allowed. There were always glasses on all dining tables and “big sets” of knives, forks, spoons were served, but unfortunately “all this” was not on napkins, but right on the tables. Evening time could be spent in the cafe-bar in the hotel building. In the evenings at 19.30, those who wished were invited for an additional fee to “eat, drink and listen to music additionally” in the cafe-bar near the pool. But, probably, in this case, it would be advisable to skip dinner at the restaurant, since it is impossible to "eat for several hours in a row."

4. Beach vacation. Of the 11 days of rest, 1 day swam on the beach "Coral Bay", 1 day - on the beach "Aphrodite" (at the stone of Aphrodite), 2-3 days on the beach near the hotel "Aloe 4 *", 4 days on the beach near the hotel " Alexander 4*". The water in the sea in August was warm (26-28 degrees). The cost of the “umbrella + 2 sunbeds” set on all the listed beaches is 7.5 euros, but, in principle, you could buy an umbrella for 7.5 euros in almost any store and bring it to the beach. In addition, for 2-3 days we swam in the pools of the Aloe 4 * Hotel. It took about 30 minutes to get to the beach "Coral Bay" by bus 615 from the bus station of Lower Paphos (buses run frequently) to the "penultimate stop". The beach is sandy, shallow, located in a large bay (the length of the bay is about 1 km). There is no algae in 0.5 of the beach, the water is clear, then there is ¼ of the beach with algae and then ¼ of the " wild beach”, where tourists arrive from Paphos by boat. You can get off at the last stop, where there is a smaller bay with two deeper beaches. It took about 1 hour to get to the beach "Aphrodite" by bus 635 (stop next to the Aloe hotel). The beach is pebbly, the water is clear. "Tourists", just in case, swim three times around two stones in the sea, so as not to be mistaken. One of them is called the "Aphrodite" stone. Please note that bus 635 runs approximately 1 time per hour, and there is a break from 12.00 to 15.00. The beach near the Aloe 4 hotel is located in a bay 200-300 meters long. In the first half of the day, the water on this beach is clear, but then quite a lot of algae appears near the shore. The beach near the Alexander 4 hotel is smaller, the water is clean, algae and garbage are often cleaned during the day. I liked this beach more than others. Swimming in the pools was comfortable (no need to go anywhere), but the water in the pools was too warm in August (about 30 degrees or more).

5. Rest and excursions in Paphos. In 2017, Paphos is considered the "Center of European Culture". But special holiday events was not noticeable. Once during the rest there was a concert at the fortress on the embankment, and on August 4-6 - a beer festival. Typical evening entertainment is walking along the promenade or along the promenade along the sea, visiting various cafes and restaurants, visiting souvenir shops and a large Papantoniou supermarket near the promenade, or a large shopping center King Avenue Mall (about 1 km from the waterfront). To the latter - you can drive one stop, for example, by bus 610 from the bus station in Lower Paphos or take a walk. Excursions are about the same with a hotel guide and in various tour agencies. With a hotel guide, the cost of excursions is about 50% higher, but there are also positive aspects (lunch can be included, and guides, as a rule, make excursions interesting). If you pay for an excursion by minibus (up to 15 people), then the cost increases by 50-70%. The lack of long-distance excursions from Paphos (monasteries, Famagusta, Kyrenia, Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol and various villages) - travel time takes 5-8 hours and only a couple of hours remain "actually on the excursion." These excursions take all day. Where we visited and what we saw: -Excursion "Grand Tour", with a trip to the Troodos mountains, with a visit to the most famous monasteries (Kykksky and others), a winery in the mountains and a mountain village where various jewelry is made and sold. Excursion paid at the hotel hotel guide. The tour was conducted by a very good tour guide Georgius, I really liked the excursion to the mountainous area. It turned out that in the mountains there is a very beautiful green area, pines, cedars, Cypriot oaks grow. Then, since it was a pity to leave for the whole day from the sea, we ourselves visited: -archaeological park in Paphos (excavations, mosaics, amphitheater…); - the catacombs of St. Solomon; - Basilica of Chrysopolitissa ancient church, the column of the Apostle Paul; – we took bus 610 to Upper Paphos in the morning, bought at a small fruit market, then walked along the beautiful street of Archbishop Makarios, went to a large souvenir market (market), observation deck; – we went almost all day to the Coral Bay beach (bus 615); – we went almost all day to the stone and the beach of Aphrodite (bus 635). In the evenings, they usually had time to buy something in Papantoniou or King Avenue… stores. It seemed that in Paphos shops almost everything imported (except for olive oil and olives) was imported from other regions or from other countries, and almost everything is expensive. From bought in stores like cheeses, olives, bread. Cypriot dry wines seemed "average" in quality.

6. Conclusion. I liked the stay at the Aloe 4 * hotel. A beautiful hotel with a green area and swimming pools, good service, delicious food, convenient location (two good beaches are nearby, the hotel is close to the Central Embankment). Paphos also liked the location by the sea, ancient history, legends and archaeological values. Probably, Cyprus is still more beautiful in March-May, when "everything turns green" and when there are many flowers and it would be logical to visit it during this period. But since we rested in a hotel that was practically on the first line, and besides, we usually walked along the promenade along the sea, on the way and in August we met many palm trees and flowering trees every day. In addition, we saw “green” Cyprus in the mountains, as if we suddenly got into “spring”.

Departure from the hotel was at 19.00, so at 12.00 we transferred things to the storage room, walked around the city, and then rested near the pool until departure. Perhaps this information will be useful for someone (a few photos, unfortunately, have been preserved only on a cell phone). Omsk, Igor, Galina

The hotel offers its youngest guests a private swimming pool and playground. In addition, the restaurant offers young guests a separate menu and special highchairs. Babysitting services are available for an additional fee.

Hotel beach

Near the Aloe Hotel 4 * (Paphos) the beach is sandy. It is fully equipped and has all the necessary amenities. However, I would like to note that sunbeds and umbrellas on it are paid. This trend is observed along the entire coast of Cyprus.

Excursions and entertainment

The city of Paphos is quite small, it is located in the southwest of Cyprus and has long history. Sometime during the Roman conquests, he was ancient capital islands. That is why it is a historical and Cultural Center all over Cyprus. The city of Paphos has so many sights that, while relaxing here, it is simply impossible not to visit at least some of them. Moreover, all the ancient monuments of the town are included in the list of cultural world values of UNESCO, and therefore are under the vigilant protection of the state.

To see the sights, you can contact the excursion point Aloe Hotel 4 * (Paphos). The tours offered here to tourists are not limited to the historical values of Paphos - you can order any tour of Cyprus. However, according to the reviews of vacationers, in order to fully see the entire island, it is better to rent a car at the hotel. It will cost less, and you will be able to see more.

Tourists should definitely take a look. As you know, the weather in Paphos is hot, so it is better to see the ruins early in the morning or after five o'clock in the evening. The tombs are interesting because they are dotted with a whole network of passages and stairs. They are exact copies of those houses and palaces in which the kings once lived.

Popular with vacationers is the baths of Aphrodite, which, according to legend, gives eternal youth. You can only get here on foot, and there is no charge for visiting the fountain and the bath. But the temple of Aphrodite itself is located fifteen kilometers from Paphos. It was built back in the twelfth century.

According to tourists, the baths of Aphrodite is a very beautiful and romantic place. Beautiful sand beach and the cleanest sea are worth your attention.

Not far from Paphos is the Hermit. Once a monk chose a nice place and dug a cave in the mountain, in which he lived for many years. People came to him, and gradually a temple grew up next to his monastery. It acquired its modern form only in the fifteenth century.

Also, guests of Paphos can visit the ancient settlement of Yeroskipos, located in the east. According to legend, it was here that the sacred gardens of Aphrodite were once located, where she indulged in love. The main attraction of this place is the temple of St. Paraskeva.

In addition to historical sights, hotel guests can visit the famous water park, which is considered the most popular place among vacationers. No less interesting is the bird park, in the amphitheater of which real bird shows are held. Here you can see many exotic animals and birds. Petra tou Romiou is especially popular with the female half. This is perhaps the most beautiful place throughout the island. According to legend, it was here at the very foot of the rock from the sea foam that Aphrodite was born.

Paphos is as if woven from legends and legends. Only for the sake of one goddess Aphrodite, many tourists come to Cyprus every year.

Aloe Hotel 4* (Paphos): room reviews

At present, it remains, as before, one of the most popular and budget options for vacation. Now many tour operators vying with each other offer tours to the island, including Aloe Hotel 4 * (Paphos) - "Biblio Globe", Coral Travel and many others. However, as practice shows, not all hotels correspond to the declared parameters. What do vacationers say about Aloe Hotel 4 * (Paphos)? Reviews about the complex are quite contradictory: from complete delight to discontent. Let's take a closer look at the main points.

According to tourists, the hotel has good staff. Settlement is fast without any problems. It doesn't take long to get to the hotel. It is really located on the first line, but it should be borne in mind that there is a road in front of the complex. Therefore, rooms overlooking the sea, of course, are located on the side of the roadway. Perhaps for someone such a neighborhood will seem very noisy and inconvenient. The quietest apartments here are considered to be those overlooking the pool and a side street with a side sea view. They are located on the shady side, and therefore the sun does not get here. For hot weather, this is a very good option.

The rooms have air conditioning, but it is clearly insufficient. The furniture of the apartment is in a normal condition, old-style TVs (nineties). As for cleaning, it is done very high quality every day. At the same time, you can not leave a tip, such a bonus does not affect the quality of the process. Towels are also changed daily, but bed linen is changed every three days.

The building itself hotel complex not old, but inside it is noticeable that in some places repair and replacement of equipment is required. In general, the interior of the hotel is quite decent. Everything is clean and tidy. There are no cockroaches and ants in the rooms, which is very pleasing. Of course, if someone expects to see a fashionable hotel here, then you should not be mistaken, otherwise you will be disappointed. The complex fully meets the "price - quality" ratio, so you should not make excessive demands. No wonder that Paphos, whose prices are quite reasonable, is considered a budget resort.
