Iguazu National Park. Vampire - bat

Iguazu(port. Parque Nacional do Iguaçu) is a Brazilian national park and facility world heritage UNESCO. It is famous for its waterfall (part of which is in Argentina) and scenic wildlife (especially a wide variety of birds) that includes rare and endangered species. This is the most unique place in the world, as 5 forest species are concentrated on one piece of land. UNESCO has included the Iguazu National Park in the World Heritage List.

- one of the largest and most famous waterfalls in the world. It is located approximately 24 kilometers from the place where the Iguazu River flows into the Parana and is located on the border of Argentina and Brazil. The opening panorama overwhelms the audience with feelings of fear, delight and admiration for the perfection of nature. A visit to the waterfall and contact with wildlife, the spectacle of the waters evoke emotions that many hope to experience at least once in a lifetime.

Iguazu Falls in Argentina, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and Zambia, and Niagara Falls in the US and Canada are the three largest waterfalls in the world. Iguazu is made up of 275 waterfalls over 3 km in total width and 80 m in height, making it wider than Victoria Falls, taller than Niagara Falls, and more beautiful than any of them. The word "Iguazu" in the local language means "big water". Iguazu Falls is a world landmark. The deepest part of the falls is called ‘Garganta do Diablo’ or ‘Devil’s Throat’ or ‘Akuma no Nodobue’.

Iguazu Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. The Iguazu River erupts an average of 1,700 cubic meters of water per second, more than Niagara Falls and Victoria Falls combined. Waterfalls are located both in cascades and streams.

During the dry season, visitors can see two separate waterfalls shaped like two crescents. Each crescent is 732 meters wide. During the dry season, there is less rainfall and the water level in the Iguazu River decreases. Iguazu Falls receives less water, so it splits into two separate falls.

During the wet season, these two crescents join together to form one big waterfall approximately 4 kilometers wide. This is because more rain falls during the wet season, so more rainwater feeds the Iguazu River in northeastern Brazil.

The waterfall was discovered in 1541. Spanish conquistador Don Alvaro Nunez Caseso de Vaca, who went to the South American jungle in search of gold and adventure.

Iguazu Falls is one of the world's greatest attractions. Thousands of people from all over the world crowd every day on the bridges built on the banks of the Iguazu River, only to get at least a few meters closer to the Garganta to Diablo (Devil's Throat). This is the most terrifying and mysterious of all 275 waterfalls in the Iguazu Cascade - the largest group of waterfalls on the planet.

The waterfall is one of the most beautiful sights in nature at any time of the year. The beauty of its dancing streams varies with the volume of water in the Iguazu River. The average volume is 1.2 million cubic meters per second. During the flood of the river, this number increases three times. In dry seasons, thin streams wash over rocks formed by numerous volcanic eruptions approximately 120 million years ago.

In the vicinity of Iguazu there is a national park where visitors can view wildlife and vegetation. There are boat tours on the Parana and Iguazu rivers. People can also visit the Itaipu Dam, one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the world.

Most of the falls are located on the Argentine side, but best view opens from the Brazilian side. Iguazu is the second most important tourist attraction in Brazil. It is located on the border of Brazil and Argentina at the confluence of the Parana and Iguazu rivers. The breathtaking 80-meter fall of the waters is impressive in itself. But this is not only one, but as many as 275 waterfalls interconnected, forming a cascade of streams of falling water in a horseshoe shape. As if tropical birds are flying high, forming a rainbow in the spray and giving the waterfall incredible beauty.

The waterfall can be reached by land, air, or water. hiking trail rises, passing through numerous observation platforms. At the end, the lift will take you to the top, where there is a souvenir shop and an observation point, to view the upper plateau on the Iguazu River.
There are also guided tours by helicopter and boats on the river. And all this splendor is located in the middle of wild nature. The Atlantic rainforest comes right up to the hotel buildings.

Over the years, the waterfall program has included all new tourist activities. The choice is varied and offers adventure-packed ecological, scientific and cultural tourism. One of the most exciting trips is along the Iguazu River. Boats deliver groups of tourists to the very canyon of the waterfall. The thrill of driving under some waterfalls is indescribable. Some tourists come back to relive them a second, third, fourth time.

The adventure is preceded by a trip in open jeeps through the Iguazu National Park.
Bilingual guides explain the features of the local fauna and flora to groups of visitors - during the trip you can usually see lizards, birds and a large number of insects.

You can also admire the waterfalls from above from a helicopter. The seven-minute flight presents a wider view of the entire panorama of the falls; together with the flight over the city and the Itaipu power plant, this is approximately 35 minutes.

The Iguazu Falls are located near the city of Foz do Iguazu. Getting to the waterfalls (to the entrance) is not so difficult, it is about five kilometers from the city of Foz to Iguazu. In the vicinity, near the entrance to the waterfalls, there are also Parque dos aves (a park with birds), the entrance is 16 reais (about 250 rubles). In this park there are many different birds, parrots. With some you can take a picture (free of charge of course), in particular with araras or green parrots. The only problem is, arars love to bite off buttons and buds on baseball caps.

The entrance to the waterfalls is also paid, where you are accompanied by a bus to the waterfalls, the bus is half open. Ticket price for the waterfalls: 20 reais for tourists, 13 reais for Brazilians. Discounts for children and pensioners (3.70). At the waterfalls, you can also ride a boat under the waterfalls themselves, but this is for an additional fee (not cheap, somewhere around 100-200 reais). buy some
gifts near the waterfalls are not cheap, the same CD about waterfalls costs 38 reais, in the city the same disc is 4-5 reais, in Paraguay 1.20 reais.

At the exit from the waterfalls, there is a heliport where you can see the waterfalls themselves and the surroundings of Iguazu from above. Prices - 400 reais (300 dollars) for a 10-15 minute flight.

Uzina de Itaip (this is a huge hydroelectric power station) is located nearby, escort by bus costs 17.50 reais (somewhere around 10-12 dollars). Pretty interesting monsters. They are located mostly in Brazil and a little in Paraguay.

For those who want to visit, you do not need a visa. At this border, even passports are practically not checked. Brazil and Paraguay are separated by a bridge (ponte de amizaje). On the Paraguayan side, the town is called Ciudad del Este. There is not much to see there, except for the goods. There is absolutely any product at a very low prices. In principle, Paraguay is a huge factory of everything, with its own internal laws. When entering Paraguay, it is better to take off all the gold from yourself and put it away, just don’t hallow money too much. There are no particular dangers, but anything can happen.

If you want, then you need a visa, which can be easily put on Foz do Iguazu at the Argentine consulate. Also next to Foz do Iguazu is located international Airport(17 km from the city). A bus ticket from Sao Paulo to Foz to Iguazu costs 135-150 reais. There are two bus stations in Sao Paulo, Barra Funda and Tiate (“tchiate” in the local dialect). // album.turizm.ru

Brazil is a country of contrasts and amazing beauties, here modern megacities are surrounded by virgin tropical jungles, where you can meet not only a large number of exotic animals and enjoy the view of the most beautiful flowers, but also get close to one of the natural wonders of the world - the waterfalls of the Iguazu River.

Where are the Iguazu Falls

The length of the river is about 1.5 thousand kilometers, the Iguazu River originates in a mountainous area near the capital of the state of Parana, the coastal city of Curitiba. Cutting through the Brazilian Upland, it flows into one of largest rivers South America— Paranu. Here at the mouth, where the river is the natural border between Argentina and Brazil, on the territory of the national park and all 275 Iguazu Falls are located.

Panorama of the Iguazu River

This area, amazing in its beauty, has impressed people at all times. The Indian tribe "Guarani", who lived in these places before the arrival of Europeans, called it the "Devil's Throat" and believed that the god of the jungle, who was angry with the young beauty Naipur, created all this beauty. The pagan god was in love with the girl and, seeing how the beloved was floating along the river with the young warrior Karoba, in a fit of anger he hit the ground, and a giant abyss opened up in front of the boat of people. And so the numerous Iguazu Falls appeared to the world.

The grandeur of the Iguazu Falls and ... the observation deck! Impressive?

In total, there are 275 units in the waterfall system, among them there are single narrow streams and real giants dropping tons of water from wide ledges!

Some waterfalls were given their own names: there are Adam and Eve, Benjamin, Three Musketeers, Two Sisters and others. For guests of the park who want to admire the beauty of the cascades, special platforms and viewing platforms have been built. So, near the Floriano waterfall, a 15-meter tower rises, from which you can see in great detail how the falling water swirls and turns into foam.

It is worth noting that the Iguazu Falls are an incredible force of the elements! The volumes of water here are colossal - in wet season it flows here up to 6000 m³ per second.

The rumble and noise of water masses falling and beating against the rocks can be heard for many kilometers. Due to the abundance of water dust, it seems that the valley of the waterfalls is covered with fog. Perhaps for this reason, the Indians once believed that this is the very place where clouds are born, then to rise into the sky.

Iguazu Falls are 275 units, among them there are single narrow streams and real giants dropping tons of water from wide ledges!

Among the representatives of the animal world living in the park, it is worth noting the noses (or coatis), which are found here as often as cats in our latitudes. It is not uncommon to see small howler monkeys scurrying between trees and curiously looking at walking people.

It is hard to say how many species of birds - parrots, toucans and others - live in this magical place. As well as counting butterflies, whose multi-colored wings can be seen literally everywhere. There are also large cats, ocelots and jaguars. If you wish, you can see how caimans hunt near the river.

But remember: you should never go off the route and try to explore the local jungle on your own. Indeed, in addition to beautiful butterflies and cute monkeys, they contain poisonous snakes, spiders and ants, the size of which sometimes exceeds 15 cm.

How to get to the Iguazu Nature Reserve

Excursion to the Iguazu Falls: route paths of the reserve

The famous Iguazu Falls are closely adjacent to two major cities: this is Puerto Iguazu, which belongs to Argentina, and Foz do Iguacu, which is part of. In each of these cities, living mainly due to tourism and unrelenting interest in the reserve and the Iguazu Falls, you can find the necessary infrastructure facilities: hotels, shops, tourist offices, souvenir shops, restaurants, and more.

How to dress and what to bring

Too much water vapor can be uncomfortable if you don't provide waterproof shoes and a raincoat or hooded windbreaker.

It is also worth taking care of the availability of a high-quality camera with a capacious drive in advance in order to be able to capture all the beauties that are found here literally at every step. As a last resort, don't forget to charge your smartphone and grab everything you need for a selfie.

If you are in Brazil or Argentina, you should definitely visit these Amazing places. Welcome to Iguazu Park!

The Iguazu Reserve is full of surprises! You can meet a charming family of leopards.

In my opinion, coming to South America and not visiting the Iguazu Falls is just strange. This is the pearl of not one country, but the whole continent. Of course, I was drawn to it. Pictures and videos were simply amazing, I was driving already tuned in to an unprecedented experience. But no expectations can be compared with what is seen and felt. The beauty of the place is so unique and grandiose that it still takes my breath away. Our world is so rich and majestic... Iguazu Falls prove it once again.

Few figures speak for themselves: 275 cascades fall from a height of up to 82 meters! From Brazil, 14 streams of water appear in all their glory. The unceasing huge cloud of spray makes the view fabulous. The natural letter V, 150 meters wide and 700 meters long, is visible from a bird's eye view. No wonder the Iguazu Falls are called the Devil's Throat.

The Iguazu Cascades are twice as tall and as wide as Niagara Falls! If we imagine that the streams of water are arranged in a ruler, then Iguazu would become the widest wonder of the world in the world, leaving African Victoria behind. The natural attraction is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

History of the place

Waterfalls 2 kilometers wide arose as a result of a volcanic eruption. A depression of unprecedented size formed in the earth's surface. How surprising it turns out: a terrible catastrophe gave us another wonder of the world.

The name Iguazu comes from the Guarani dialect and means "big water". The first scientist to personally observe the Throat of the Devil was the Spaniard Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca. This happened in 1541.

In 1991, two countries - Brazil and Paraguay - put the power of waterfalls to their service: the world's largest hydroelectric power plant, Itaipu, opened. Imagine 40% of electricity for two countries, one of which is as large as Brazil, provides a waterfall! This is serious. The station itself is a technical achievement of mankind.

Brazil also shares the Iguazu National Park. At the same time, in the first country it occupies 170 thousand hectares and began to work in 1939, and in the second - 55 thousand hectares and appeared in 1909. By the way, I talked in detail about other Brazilian sights.

When to come

The Devil's Throat is beautiful at any time of the year, but it is worth considering the peculiarities of the climate. At the Iguazu Falls, it is especially good to relax in the summer from January to February. The official rainy season is from November to March. At this time, the river is the most full-flowing, the water flow is 13 cubic meters per second. Walking on the waterfalls during these months is not very pleasant, it is too damp and uncomfortable.

In winter, from June to August, these places are also cool. It is better to go there when it is sunny to enjoy the views to the fullest. It was much more pleasant for me to walk under the spray in hot weather than on a rainy day. Yes, and waterfalls can be seen in all its glory, the photos are better.

How to get there

From Brazil

In Brazil, you need to get to the town of Foz de Iguaçu. The distance from it to - about 1,480 km, to - 1,040 km. Buses go there, planes fly there. From Rio the bus price is about $100 (330 reais). More convenient and cheaper air Transport- 70 $ (230 reais).

Tourists arrive at Foz do Iguaçu Airport International Airport).

Airlines:

  • Azul Brazilian Airlines - from Campinas, Curitiba.
  • Gol Airlines - from Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro,.
  • LAN Perú - from Lima ().
  • PLUNA - from ().
  • TAM Airlines - from Belen, Curitiba, Maceio, Salvador,.
  • TRIP Linhas Aéreas - from Campo Grande, Cuiaba, Londrina, Maringa,.
  • Webjet - from Belo Horizonte, .

There are buses from the airport to the central station, it is easy to take a taxi. It is possible to immediately go to the waterfalls, as the airport is on the way shuttle bus in the national park and even close to it.

But you can also stay overnight. Foz de Iguacu itself is a very small town, in my opinion, cozy and green. The tourist infrastructure is well developed. Hotels and hostels are located everywhere. Prices for accommodation in Foz de Iguacu from $ 150 (494 reais) per day for Double Room V simple hotel. We rented a charming double room in a green area in a hostel for $30 per night (100 reais).

Then, from the central station, I took a regular regular bus to the Iguazu National Park area, costing $2 (7 reais). It runs every 30 minutes. Get there in about half an hour. Another option is a taxi for $30 (100 reais).

Already in the park, I bought tickets for a double-decker bus directly to the place and back. This is both a tour to the waterfalls and to the park.

From Argentina

In Argentina, you can also get to the waterfalls by bus or plane. Again, more comfortable by air. You will fly for $ 200 (2,900 pesos), which is half the price and several times faster than the bus.

Here tourists stop in the city of Puerto Iguazu. The distance to Buenos Aires is about 1,340 km. The cost of housing in hostels starts from $ 10 per day (150 pesos).

Planes arrive at Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport. Flights are:

  • Aerolíneas Argentinas - from Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Mendoza, Rio de Janeiro, Salta,.
  • Andes Lineas Aéreas - from Cordoba.
  • Austral Lineas Aéreas - from Buenos Aires.
  • LAN Argentina - from Buenos Aires.

From Puerto Iguazu we traveled 18 kilometers by bus to the national park. It runs every half an hour and the ticket costs $5.5 (80 pesos). You can replace the taxi bus costing $10 (150 pesos).

Which country is better

Waterfalls, as I said, are located on the border of three three states: Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. The Iguazu National Park is divided between Brazil and. There is no clear border between them, it runs right along the river and waterfalls. The countries are connected by a suspension bridge. Whether it is worth visiting the reserve from two sides is up to you.

It depends on your personal preferences and travel format. One has to go everywhere and try everything, and only then will he be satisfied. Others will get the experience of a lifetime from one single encounter with a miracle of nature. We are so unique... I will briefly tell you about both the Brazilian and Argentine parts.

In each country, it is better to take a day or even two to visit Iguazu. If you decide to visit everywhere, customs control not very tough, especially from Argentina, you can even do without stamps in your passport. In Brazil, stamps should be put down - back and forth, even if you return on the same day.

So, prosbrazilian side:

  • It is believed that the view from the Brazilian side is the most amazing and here you get the best photos.
  • Only here there is an opportunity to visit the unique and best park birds on the continent. Your children will especially enjoy!
  • If you are not too fond of long walks, then the Brazil side is also more suitable. You can be on the central platform in front of the waterfall in half an hour.
  • The most valuable thing when traveling from Foz de Iguaçu is the opportunity to go to the central bridge or observation deck.
  • Boat excursions are also considered the best in this country.

Pros of the Argentine side:

  1. Opportunity to walk a lot in the jungle, big walks to the trailer and after to the waterfalls along the paths. On the trailer - 15 minutes and 1.2 thousand meters along the bridges - and you are near the waterfalls. Even two separate routes above and below work.
  2. Walking on the bridges among the islands. Most of the park and waterfalls are on the Argentina side. Here you get the opportunity to feel yourself in the waterfall itself, surrounded on all sides by it.
  3. For $13 (200 pesos), taxi drivers will take you to the world's largest power plant, Itaipu. Hurry up to 17 hours!
  4. The most famous and favorite restaurant is La Rueda. A full meal for $80–100 (1,200–1,500 pesos). Prepare the best Argentine beef steaks.
  5. The town of Puerto Iguazu is smaller, quieter and cozier than Foz de Iguazu, with moderate food and drink prices.
  6. From Argentina it is easy to go for 1 day to the Brazilian side, they won’t even put a stamp in your passport, but it’s better to return right away. You can take a taxi for $15 (224 pesos). But I recommend taking a Rio Uruguay bus with a Cataratas sign. It runs from Puerto Iguazu main station every 2 hours. The fare is $3 (60 pesos). The border is usual: windows where stamps are placed. Taxi driver and bus will be waiting for you.
  7. If you wish, you can take a taxi to the Park of the Three Borders, see Paraguay and Brazil from afar. Taxi drivers also deliver to the village local residents guarani, lost in the wild forests. They sell various handicrafts, fresh fruits. Prices for trips are different, you need to negotiate, on average about $ 60.

How to see the waterfalls

Iguazu are so huge - they can be viewed from the ground, from the water, from above, and each time a completely different picture, different views will open before you. In both Brazil and Argentina, there are options for hiking along the national park paths and boat tours. You can only see the waterfalls from a bird's eye view in Brazil.

Helicopter tour

It seems to me that it is from the Brazilian side that the view of the falls is the best, but they can only be fully appreciated from the air. To do this, they offer helicopter tours. Helipad located right in front of the entrance to the national park, you will not pass by. The price for a flight lasting 12 minutes is $200. They fly from 9 am to 5 pm.

Yes, it's exciting, you really feel the power of Iguazu. A unique picture is striking: all the waterfalls are in front of your eyes, and clouds of water drops over the endless jungle. The name Devil's Throat becomes very self-explanatory.

But in this case, you will not see huge streams of water right in front of you, you will not swim in the spray ... Those who prefer to fly, apparently appreciate other things.

On a motor boat

You can book a boat trip for $70 (180 reais). Protective equipment is provided. The tour lasts about three hours.

They are driven right under the white streams of water and next to them. Yes, the route is extreme. But this way you can see the waterfalls from the bottom up and literally touch them.

Boat excursion

This is true for the Argentine side. The tour is bought in the town of Puerto Iguazu the day before departure. It will cost $20 (290 pesos). If you wish, you can walk around the park before the event. General collection takes place in the center of the park. We remember the route to it - the car drove through the real jungle along a huge canyon. If you decide, I want to warn you that you need to prepare for the trip in advance. It is better to put the camera and things in a plastic bag, put on a swimsuit before the tour.

At the pier, our group moved to the boat. The walk lasted no more than 15 minutes, but the sensations were at the limit. When you see this hugeness from below, you feel it with your soul and body, it even becomes a little scary.

Iguazu from Brazil

national park

Entrance to the park costs $15 (50 reais). Visiting times: from 9:00 to 17:00. The bus to the waterfalls is driving through the jungle, I saw a huge butterfly flying from the open windows. This big park divided into zones for different animals. There is a forest of monkeys, jaguars, bright red raccoons walk near the waterfalls. It is necessary to assess your capabilities correctly, since it is difficult to see everything in one day. The main forces should be left to the waterfalls themselves. It took me a couple of hours to walk along the paths of the national park - I completely immersed myself in the atmosphere of the place.

To see all the zones of the reserve, I recommend visiting the amazing bird park before going to the waterfalls. On the way back, you can get off the double-decker bus, look at other animals, although it is better to do this the next day with fresh energy. If you want to go everywhere, since you are in the best national park in Brazil, book a hotel in Foz de Iguaçu for a few days and explore the park in several visits.

"Iguazu" - very modern, green and picturesque park. In one day, I was able to so plunge into this world, the world of nature, birds and waterfalls, that I still have a lot of impressions, although several months have passed since my trip.

bird park

The park contains birds from Brazil, Asian countries, Africa and Australia. There are about 1 thousand birds in total. Considered to be the best bird park in the world Latin America. Here you can watch birds in their natural habitat. The best part is that they are right next to you, at arm's length and without a cage. For example, with the main long-nosed toucan, the symbol of South America, we were photographed side by side, so he also posed!

The number and variety of species simply amazed me! Owls, eagles, ostriches, small birds, parrots, storks and many, many others. Multi-colored large parrots - the sea. They make noise, creating a jungle atmosphere. Be sure to pay attention to the unique Cassovari bird. This is an ancient breed, relic. This can not be found in all zoos in the world! She looks like an ostrich, but more proud and beautiful.

There is also a room of tropical butterflies that land on incoming ones. You can also watch amphibians, snakes, insects, crocodiles. These are all reptiles of local forests. Anaconda surprised me. And how does she live in the park if she does not have the opportunity to hunt here.

In the bird park, as in all Iguazu, it is very clean, green, excellent organization. I really liked the landscape design: everything is clear and beautiful, the signs and paths are just perfect. Ponds, small wooden bridges and trees are chosen with taste. Flowers are sometimes planted directly on logs in a line, they are colorful and bright.

If you want to have a snack, you will find a cafe in the center of the park under a large canopy. We also stopped there, but instead of coconut milk, which visitors love so much, we preferred the surprisingly tasty and excellent local acai ice cream in the heat. Sit in a cafe will cost $ 4-6 (15-20 reais). Around are charming baskets-armchairs, small houses woven from vines, you can sit, hide, ride in them. There is also the work of local wood craftsmen: benches and a whole throne, where tourists usually take pictures.

As I said, it is better to visit the bird park in front of the waterfalls. We have this way general impression remained very positive, and on the way back, there would definitely not have been the strength to enter it. Entrance - $10 (35 reais). Be sure to visit here, it's worth it!

waterfalls

After visiting the park, we took tickets and rode on a double-decker windowless bus to the destination. The fare is $15 (50 reais). On the serpentine bus carries easily and quickly. At the entrance stands a dazzling white hotel for those wishing to stay at Iguazu.

I got off the bus and saw first of all greenery, clean sidewalks, people. But when I finally noticed the waterfalls, I was just in shock! They are unrealistically beautiful, huge. As if you are not quite on our planet. No, rather open it again. Now I know exactly why such places are considered natural wonders Sveta. The combination of white streams of water and bright green jungle, beautiful cascades, huge width and height, along with smells and noises, are remembered forever.

Beautiful paths made of stone and wood over the waterfalls lead to the very center of the attraction, the railings make the path safe. Selling raincoats. They are more comfortable, but I did not take. Swimming in the waterfalls is more pleasant and interesting. Especially since it was hot.

Raccoons are jumping all over the paths, bright red, with huge noses and hungry. But it is better not to feed them with your hands, they can hurt. This is indicated by bright pictures at the entrance. They shamelessly walk among the people, and accompanied us on the way to the waterfalls. Animals are even somewhat arrogant, you really should be more careful with them. I also watched as a huge iguana crawled out into the sun, to the general delight of tourists.

But all my attention was riveted to the waterfalls, I could not take my eyes off them. After all, from different angles they are seen a little differently and seem to become even more beautiful. Colorful butterflies fly right by the Iguazu River. It is amazing that the water in it is clean, this is a rarity for southern countries. It is somewhat even similar to Russian mountain rivers, only much wider and with islands of greenery.

On the central platform, where there is fog from the drops, when you look down, a divine picture opens up - a bright rainbow. Only on Iguazu does it appear at such an angle! Foamy water, the sound of icy cascades falling from a great height among the dense tropics, wild nature in all its might and grandeur - all this together gave me an incredible feeling of joy, unforgettable experience.

Near the restaurant (it is located on the top platform) you can see the wide Iguazu River in all its glory. It's also good to eat here. Lunch will cost about $17 (45 reais).

From the very high point naturally offers the best view of the falls. You can get here by stairs or elevator. This is the end point of the Brazilian part of Iguazu route, it is impossible to miss it. A photo with you on the background of Iguazu will be made for $6 (20 reais) and will be returned in 4 minutes.

In my opinion, it is best to come to the national park in the morning, calmly go to the bird park, work up there. Then, if you wish, fly by helicopter and only then, in the afternoon, calmly go to the waterfalls. Then there is a chance that there won't be many people. Walking among the paths without the crowd is very valuable. Yes, before the waterfalls you can still go to a cafe with Brazilian cuisine (it is located right at the entrance to the park, from where buses go to the waterfalls) - eat the national dish churrasco, grilled meat with various side dishes and vegetables. Pay $9 (Zo Reals) and you will eat as much as you want.

Iguazu from Argentina

national park

Entrance in Argentina costs $17 (250 pesos). The park is open from 8 am to 6 pm.

Our path through the national park consisted of a walk to the trailer (yes, here it “runs” on a narrow gauge railway), a 15-minute ride on it and further travel through the forest to the waterfalls. There are upper and lower routes for a complete view of Iguazu. On the latter, they even ride boats, boats. In principle, one full day to explore the Argentine side will be enough.

Here you can take a longer walk through the real jungle. We were surrounded by wild animals and plants. And there was something to see - a real multi-level forest, almost like in the Amazon! At the very bottom, the famous yerba mate tea grows. I have known for a long time that this drink is produced only in Argentina. By the way, it is very tasty and healthy.

Flowers in the park bloomed right on the tree trunks in front of our admiring eyes ...

Everything is perfectly equipped: there are maps, paths, signs. There is a restaurant with a buffet - entrance $ 13 (200 pesos). It is in Argentina that there are bridges between the islands, their length is 2 km. They're coming over the river! It looks very picturesque and romantic. Walking there is incredibly pleasant. There is even an area where we managed to swim.

Where the Iguazu River merges with the Parana River, three countries meet - Brazil and Paraguay. Three related cultures are united by cascades of one waterfall.

Every year, about 2 million people admire this miracle of nature. Which is quite natural. Take a few days to visit, see Iguazu from different countries. The cascade is truly unique in that it gives you the chance to walk and see the grandiose creation of nature from all sides, each waterfall separately or the entire stream at once. Not a single waterfall in the world gives such an opportunity. This is very valuable for travelers. And I love these places.

Iguazu Falls - simply stunning, mesmerizing, incredible - my very vivid impression from South America! They are so huge and so amazing that you even begin to doubt their reality. Such places soften the heart and strengthen the love for our planet, for nature.
